Sprint in halo and jumping/climbing in zelda

The times are changing people, get on board. Changes to game mechanics in classic games are happening. I personally have enjoyed all the mechanics in H5 for what it is. It truly made me feel like a bad a** spartan. I look forward to jumping in Zelda as well. It’s providing a whole new experience.

EDIT: Based off the new Zelda they showed at E3. It’s the first Zelda game to ever have jumping. Zelda is an iconic series, surprised a lot of people that they did that. Point is these games are evolving.

Ok?

Bringing up Sprintgate is like beating the decayed corpse of a horse from the 19th century. It’s here to stay, so we might as well shut up about it, or at least offer some propper compromises (and even that would be boring at this point).

Please try to keep threads only talking about halo 5 within this section of the forums. Also your almost asking for a flame when you bring up sprint in any light

The difference between Zelda and Halo is that Zelda is a singleplayer action adventure game, where more immersive elements are welcome. You don’t see people complaining about sprint in games like Fallout 4 because Fallout 4, like Zelda, is a predominantly singleplayer only game. Halo has a multiplayer component where new mechanics like sprint can affect how the game plays for all players, and not always in a good way.

Should be pretty interesting to see how it effects Zeldas competitive multiplayer, especially in comparison to previous Zelda’s MP that didn’t have jump. Can’t wait to see how it goes.

I never played Zelda, stopped playing Nintendo consoles after the Gamcube… Soooo?

I imagine 343 has already lost a decent amount of the Halo fans between Halo 4-5 and MCC…

How could people be against getting around faster? These are Spartans, and you’re telling me they shouldnt be able to run???

Why should they have to run with their weapons down? They are super soldiers, the should be able to do things that normal marines in most modern shooters can’t do. It is a damn shame when normal, non augmented humans like Gordon Freeman, Doom Guy, and random Terrorists/Counter Terrorists from Counter Strike can run faster than Master Chief and do so while having their gun at the ready at all times.

Then you need to get off your a** and grab a Nintendo system and play some Zelda cause this new one is going to be the bomb.

But those are those games and this is this game. Play with the cards dealt, not the ones in the other deck.

I agree. However if it quiets the no sprinting crowd than I say its a compromise. Leave sprinting, but no shooting during. However I do agree, these guys should definitely be able to shoot and sprint.

I don’t see how this response is relevant at all. It would be if only some people could sprint and others could not, but everyone can sprint. It is a built in feature. Therefore what that tells me is that it is something to be learned and mastered in the course of playing this game.

It is relevant in the fact that the OP is comparing a new mechanic in a singleplayer game (The Legend of Zelda) to a mechanic recently added (if you can count 2010 as recently) in a singleplayer and multiplayer game (Halo). These two are completely different types of games and have added new movement mechanics for completely different reasons. Zelda added jumping to give the player some more depth to how they traverse the overworked and the dungeons on their adventure. Halo added sprinting to give people an animation and an honestly pointless risk/reward system for the sake of “immersion”.
