Sprint in Halo 4 is sounding great.

From what I gathered in the bulletin, I think we will be able to run and shoot at the same time, and those who wish to run can get hunted down whilst being shot at, which slows them down and if they’re close enough they can be assassinated. So I think sprint is now pretty balanced.

Yeah I agree when this was announced I had a lot of faith for 343i

The thing that marred sprint the most for me was double pummel. Sounds as if shooting players sprinting towards you would fix that =)

I read the bulletin but I don’t think you’ll be able to shoot while you sprint. Post the quote that made you think that.

Not sure about shooting while sprinting - but I do agree it sounds a lot more balanced.

The part that stuck out to me was that maps can now be designed knowing everyone has sprint at all times. That alone screams dedication to design.

You can’t shoot while sprinting. You can shoot while running.

Sprint is bad regardless of how it’s implemented, the movement speed in arena shooters needs to be static. Having the ability to suddenly increase your speed, regardless of the drawbacks that come with it water down the gameplay in that it makes it near impossible to predict player movement. Hopefully there’s an option to remove it from certain gametypes.

no there is a video of the spartan running with his gun down

I can see how you misinterpreted what was said, but I highly doubt firing a weapon can occur while sprinting in H4. I imagine this is the quote from the update that confused:

> The levels in Halo 4 are designed for this faster mobility. You’re continually driven right back into action, not away from it. You can try to use Sprint to flee combat, but you’re not likely to be successful because everyone else will have it, too, thus ensuring someone will be right on your tail, shooting your back while you attempt to escape, and probably causing your untimely demise.

You may want to put it in the OP, to clarify your point and ask questions of other community members.

Take a look at the first introductory vidoc and you will see that when a player is sprinting then there is no reticle implying that a player cant shoot while sprinting.

They also said that while everyone does have sprint, that it would’nt mean we will be having a slow base speed, which I’m glad for. I just wonder how much sprinting will affect it though. Will it be the kind where you would only use it to get from place to place without firing, or just the casual run where you can keep your weapon ready at all times.

yup its was confirmed that shooting sprinting players will slow them down.
I think 343 should make sprint movement speed and base movement speed separate in custom setup.
