Sprint delay?

Why is there sometimes a delay before using the sprint feature? It’s seemingly random, my controller recognises the input because it vibrates as I start to sprint (which is normal), but the motion of sprinting takes about a second to do?
This happens maybe 1 in every 5 times I go to sprint and I have no idea why. It’s not my controller because games like CoD sprint when I want to fine, no lag at all. I have a feeling it’s not lag but actually part of the game mechanics. Is something i’m doing causing a short delay before I sprint or is this just a bug? Maybe like the cool down feature for our thrusters?

If not, please release a fix, i’ll ask my mates if they have the same problem also. It’s not game breaking just really annoying. Anyone else noticed it?

It’s probably lag?

if you are being shot at it will cancel the sprint until you reach full speed

It might be the time necessary for your spartan to complete the action it is already doing.

I’ve thought of that but I really doubt it, i’ve had a very stable connection with Halo 5, this is the only issue i’ve had that may be lag related, but if it’s lag i’d notice it in other aspects of the game also…which I haven’t. Thanks though.

It happens even when not near enemies.

I’ll check that out, test a few things. Thanks.

Usually happens after I slide. Takes a second or two to fully get back to springing which kind of sucks because it ruins the momentum

Late reply, but figured it out. Whenever you use the ‘thruster pack’ or whatever you want to call it. The next sprint will ALWAYS have a short delay before it. I have no idea why, but try it yourself. You can slide, run in circles for miles, sprint and stop and sprint and stop etc, and never have the delay…but as soon as you use dodge/use thrusters, you will have a delay before the next sprint. Even if you wait a minute or longer.
I don’t know why this is the case, pretty weird. But anyway, thanks guys, figured it out. Was panicking a moment my game was bugged or something. It’s no biggie just irritating as.

almost all animations in halo 5 (slide, thrust, climb etc) needs to be fully completed before you can sprint or do anything.
im not sure if this is intended or not.
