After seeing thread after thread complaining about or praising sprint. I’ve grown tired of your constant bickering. I made this thread in the hopes of changing your views. Now, obviously, whether the pros outweigh the cons or vice versa is all opinion. (or fact, if you want to be that way)I made this thread in an attempt to balance out the pros and cons. Here goes nothing…
So, from my understanding, the main problem with sprint is that it’s easy for players to run away because they have shields. So, to get the best of both worlds, (without being forced out of sprint the moment you are shot) when you get hit by a specific weapon, a fraction of your sprint bar is taken off. For example.
3 BR rounds (1 shot) = 33% of sprint gone.
1 Sniper rifle round = 100% of sprint gone.
(Assuming the AR has 60-64 rounds in a clip)
30 AR rounds = 50% of sprint gone.
Plasma pistol overload = 100% of sprint gone.

This is exactly how I feel about the sprint debate.

It’s poor in one HALO and we have no evidence of change to the mechanic. Change won’t do as good as simply replacing it anyway. Why fix things to include sprint instead of fixing the game by not including sprint?

what about
Sprint is a poor decision but i will deal with it if i absolutely have to
if armor lock is in halo 4 i will personally bomb 343i studios

From the gameplay footage. It seems that H4 will not have a health bar. If you mean shields, then you would be taken out of sprint immediately after being shot by one AR round.
1 shot and getting taken out of sprint doesn’t sound very super soldier-y to me.
How about no sprint at all? Halo 1 didn’t have it. Halo 2 didn’t have it. Halo 3 didn’t have it. Sprint and Halo don’t mix. If call of duty and battlefield got rid of sprint, the core fans would flip. Same principle applies here. Halo doesn’t need sprint in the same way that cod does

what do you mean it contradicts what they are saying. I’m saying its a crap mechanic that doesn’t belong in halo.

Here ya go. I’ll simplify it for you.
If it goes how you want.
343i: Wants to make Spartans feel more powerful and flexible, removes sprint.
Makes sense. :\

Is sprint now known as walking slower? The only way is would not be unfair.

Lol when should logic be a big part of gameplay. They should make the gameplay better, not satisfy logic.
Besides, Chief’s always been a fast jogger for 9 years in multiplayer.

> EDIT: Another thing that’s logical: Bloom. Sure it’s logical that bullets should fly randomly if spammed, but when should randomness be in a video game? It completely makes the skill gap smaller by making luck be a part of skill. Unfair, No?
What IF sprint was some kind of pick up on a map such as equipment was in H3? One use and cannot be recharged or reused till spawned again. In all honesty AA’s were the worst thing about reach other than the horrible campaign. Equipment in H3 were much more balanced and funner to use due to the fact that they were one use only.
