Sprint and Shields

I’ve been watching twitch all day and one thing I’ve noticed is that sprinting, not only stopping but, restarting your shield recharge timer seems to force people to stand still a lot. It should just pause it, or your timer should count down slower while sprinting.

it stops it. you can’t recharge shields while sprinting. you can move at normal speed and they will recharge though.

No. We don’t need people sprinting all over the map again like in Reach and H4.

I know then players would actually have to use skill to kill a faster moving target. We need that slow clunky first gen game play :slight_smile:

It won’t happen, all the anti-sprint crybabies made sure of that.

I know that it’s supposed to help balance out sprint, but restarting the shield recharge timer makes it stall the game. All I’m saying is that it should pause it instead.

That is a really good way to balance out sprinting, so people just don’t run for it all the time.

We could just…you know…cut out sprint entirely and not deal with any of these issues.

If by you mean the people who offered reasons why a bad mechanic is bad, then yes, those crybabies sure did make sure of that.

Yeah it stopping while sprinting makes sense, we’re spartans not um non spartans?

The thing I don’t like about the shield delay is it punishes offensive movement as well. Say you win a battle and are low shields. A teammate needs your help badly. That few second shield delay could end up getting your teammate killed, or you could sprint to him with your low shields and risk getting easily picked off. You end up being punished for going the speed at which the map was built around. It causes more problems than it solves.

I think it balances things out a lot better.
