Sprint and controller layout.

I don’t understand why they would even put sprint in halo 4. There reasoning was that too many people used sprint in reach and the other AA’s weren’t used as much. So now they make it so it’s not an AA but everybody can instead just sprint by default with the left thumbstick. A better solution would be to just make the base movement speed faster like halo 2 or 3 and just have no sprint at all. All sprint does is slow down gameplay and is mainly used to run away. Also with out sprint you wouldn’t have to worry about reworking the control schemes. Crouch was always on the left tumbstick and makes crouch jumping easier. Why change that?

So many people don’t know this, but Reach’s base movement is only about 3% slower than Halo 1-3’s. It’s a combination of the field of view and the slow kill times that makes it seem so much slower in comparison to previous games. So your “solution” won’t really solve anything.

The only problem with Sprint in Halo is that it gives players the ability to just run away as soon as they come under fire. This problem is being resolved in Halo 4 by kicking players out of sprint once they come under fire, and the maps are now larger to increase the distance from cover to cover.

It doesn’t kick you out of sprint when under fire though. Where did you here this? I think it just slows you down a little. One of the mlg players said he didn’t even realize any difference when he was being shot at while sprinting. So the slowdown is probably so little it won’t even make a difference.

I just hope sprint can be disabled or I won’t bother with multiplayer in this game

We have to remember the game isn’t finished yet. Once it is, the sprint slow/kick will likely be more noticeable. Even if it does only slow you down a little, it’s still better than it was in Reach.

Now you have sprint aswell… go run after him…

I don’t want to have to be chasing people down though. Also the shields seem to recharge faster now so by the time you catch them they’ll probably have full shields again. Also if they have the unlimited sprint perk and I don’t then I probably won’t be catching them.
