To me, a few of the spartan ops maps that we play on look like glorified firefight maps. Heck, there are some that would work perfectly as FF map. My question is this…Is there any way to optimize some of the spartan ops maps for firefight in future games. Sort of how Black Ops integrates alternate gametypes in their zombies mode
Erosion would be dooooooooopppppeeeeeeee yo
We can’t have both because of the coding. Considering spops is FF with a side of story. I believe it is better.
The closest thing you’re gonna get is EP:5 CH:1 SPARTAN MILLER

I agree, but I’d like to see Firefight return in Halo 5. I can think of some environments in Halo 4’s campaign and Spartan Ops that would make great firefight maps.
E8 C5 proves to me that Firefight would have been great in Halo 4. I only wish the gametype could be added in after the fact. If it were to return, I’d much rather see something close to ODST, rather than Reach.
That would be nice.
Yep would be very nice, loved FF
Firefight was my favorite and most played mode in Reach, it was a ton of fun. While I do enjoy SpOPS, Firefight filled a void that SpOPS doesent, plus Firefight had awesome customization options in Reach.
I was just thinking a little bit ago how fun firefight would be in halo 4.
All the weapons and new enemies.
But I’m guessing there were quite a few limitations that led to the choice of leaving it out entirely
Think about it, Prometheans in FF. Fun!
> Think about it, Prometheans in FF. Fun!
would definitely make the commendations a lot more easier to get
If you think about it, 343i was still rushed to make the game. It is still a possibility that will add Firefight 3.0 in Halo 5.
Plus, if they had the time before release, that would be another huge download on disc 2 to add (maybe 1 GB? Somewhere around there?)
But, it would still be nice to see it again.

Man, it would be, dropping down that hole, fighting below in the green swampy area.
I remember how excited we all were. I thought for sure we would of had a moving version of FF, which we do, except for the lack of waves, i wanted to battle, 1,000’s of enemies. Some maps barely top out over 100.
Instead of both of them , hy not Zoidberg?
Im so sorry. But it had to be done.
The game engine can’t even handle spartan ops. Al the maps play like a slide show. Problem would be 10 times worse in firefight. The game engine is one of the most unoptimized pieces of crap I have ever seen.
I think Spartan Ops needs to stop running off the Firefight gametype and become similar to Campaign and Firefight should return. 343 could get a lot more done with Spartan Ops that way.

In all fairness, Halo 3 and Reach didn’t exactly have perfectly optimized engines either. Halo 3’s framerate kept dropping below 30fps (not to mention that it was one of the only games that couldn’t be installed) and Reach actually stuttered in some situations. Halo 4 was released too soon, I think. It should have been released for the new Xbox - new trilogy for a new console.

Spops is not FF with a story unless you’re referring to FF Arcade. Firefight was Halo’s only challenging survival mode. They should both coexist in Halo. Halo needs a survival mode again.

What? A more accurate answer would be “We can’t have both because it’s too late to add in another gamemode”.
If 343i took the effort, they could’ve easily included Firefight with Reach’s options (and possibly more) ironed it out, and served it next to Spartan Ops.
