But Mendicant was buried on the Ark right?
If mendicant is stored on 07 that would be a thing to be afraid of too. It’d be more than inconvenient if Mendicant returned, let me put it like that.

Honestly out of everything it seems Halo 5 may be getting heacy Retcons, and the Forerunners were always mysterious, just being thought of as ancient humanity with the only outright statement of it being in the cut content of Halo 2’s Story.
The Endless are never truely considered worse than the Flood beyond simple gussing on the part of Chief and kind of on Adajant Resolution’s parts. The Endless are simply known to have survived the Halo Array, and due to the archeological logs and Legendary ending, it seems they were peaceful before the rings were fired. I assume they are just implied to be dangerous due to the fact that the flood could possibly infect them and doom the universe even after the fireing of the rings. Besides that, its possible that they are seen as dangerous due to the power aspect of them given the mention of “Controling time” and the Harbinger fight, I just assume they have the power to pause time relative to them and have some kind of inate conductory gravitational anamoly aspect similar to a black hole to cause those blasts. Then again that is just an idea since Halo usually tries to stay grounded in everything.
The Legendary ending has confirmed Offensive Bias is on Zeta Halo, personally I feel that is what Cortana was searching for since Offensive Bias was the last to control the Forerunner fleet before the Halo Rings fired, similar to what happened in Halo Wars, just that the base of Operations is on Zeta Halo. Mendicant though is more sentient than Offensive so in contrast it would be a lot more of an issue if she were to go after Mendicant even though his repenting is to help Humanity in any way he can.
I mean keep in mind most Forerunner AI are based off living brain tissue and are litterally uploaded conciousness, aka the monitors, so it depends on if they have someone to talk too, 000 Tragic Solitude and 686 Embulient Prisim are the only exceptions I seen to which never really went crazy but were always somewhat evil.
343 Guilty Spark went stircrazy due to being alone that whole time with the last monitor he spoke too being Abject Testament who is easily the most apathetic member given he left his installation in poor condition. Meanwhile Despondent Pyre. Enduring Bias, and Static Carllion were all fine when they finally were contacted by life again, even though they have been active through their whole service unlike submonitors such as Adjuntant Resolution.
Yes, I mentioned that in an earlier reply.
My only problem with this is the factor of the Mantle, if they were part of the Primordials, they would know about the Mantle, I mean the Flood knew but they didn’t give a crap since they were vengance incarnate for the Precursor’s deaths, wanting all organic life to cease under the wrath of gods hence being a “monnument to all your sins.” The Endless I believe are just a loose end from the Halos fireing, due to the hovering, teleporting, energy balls, and implications of time manipulations, I believe the endless have gravitational powers, being in relation to black holes, possibly having their species evolve near one to explain it as an idea. Due to their powers though they were like holes in time when the Halo array fired, negating it, so they were seen as a threat by the remaining Forerunners (which would have been few) to which caused their imprisonment out of fear of the flood but didn’t mention to them why they were bing imprisioned, even having the Iso-Didact being manipulated to an end as his character was one like a sirly knight so if it wasn’t for the council of the few forerunners left, it is likely the Iso-Didact would let them go, believing his friends in the Monitors would keep the Flood at bay.
Yeah, I saw that when I was scrolling back up to look at the rest of the thread when replying, sorry about that.
My first thought was the brute cough was signs of flood spore infection. That the endless were connected to the flood, experimenting on them to possibly control them. I was thinking we might see nightmare fuel flood machine mix. I was far off but it is a fun idea.
Cool idea and welcome to the forum!
I think it’s 343 way of saying they are going to bring back people who died and make this a infinity war copycat
No the legendary ending already explains but I already wrote in other threads
I feel like The Endless are just the new Prometheans for Halo T for Teen game Bad Guys so thay can cut out the Flood.
I have never considered the books to be canon. For me everything Halo exists within the games. That being said there are many parallels, but I don’t think that every single detail needs to match up 100%.
