Since we’ve seen that Cortana has been locked down/destroyed in the 6 months since the beginning of the game, does that mean her guardians and the other Created aligned with her are no longer a threat?
In the distance on Zeta Halo, you can see what looks to be the destroyed remains of a guardian. I’m assuming the Banished do not have the ability to suddenly fill the power vacuum across the galaxy that Cortana left. Are the other Created still in control of the guardians? Did the guardians all just deactivate?
Since there seems to be no UNSC reinforcements to Zeta since her deactivation, is there still something else keeping them controlled. I suppose that maybe the UEG is busy trying to reassert its rule in Human space, but one would think Zeta Halo is a priority.
who knows this game has so many plot holes covered by bad writing its not even funny

yeah them trying to bring HW stuff into the mainline shooter was one of the worst ideas ever of all time

There’s a lot we don’t know.
The main evidence against the Created/Guardians being destroyed is that the Multiplayer Intro they mention the Infinity and Zeta Halo disappearing. But there’s no mention of “we got her” or “Guardians down” or “we won”. They’re not exactly celebrating as you would expect. I don’t know, maybe the party was last night.
Aside from that we don’t have any information from outside Zeta Halo. Atriox says your “Empire is gone”, to which Cortana says “not yet”. Kind of ambivalent.

The ambivalence is probably so that when the UNSC rocks up it’s a surprise if they have an entire fleet: if we knew help was on way no surprise.
My guess with taking what we’re told at face value and given the tone of the series. Guardians stop working. Created surrender or flee; fade into background. Humanity doesn’t genocide all the Smart AI because good guys. So they’re probably just getting themselves set up and looking for Zeta Halo with what they can throw together. Since only Sydney was destroyed the impact of the Guardian attack is bad but not terminal and not enough time would have passed for humanity to have become reliant on the Created. I’d point towards a bit of early concept art which shows an occupation of a human city with Cortana on 1984 style broadcast. They came, they scared everybody, they left.
That or the Cortana we see trapped and die in Campaign was just the splinter Cortana had sent to control Zeta Halo. But that still leaves the rest of her in control of the Galaxy with the Domain.
Season 2 multiplayer cinematic is most likely place we will get confirmation on wider galaxy and Earth; if six months prior to Halo Infinite.

Cortana controlled the Guardians with the domain. The question is to know if the other AI created can use the domain too.

If they can, the created are still a powerfull faction in the galaxy

If they can’t use the domain, they’re forced to connect physicly with them. So every Guardian without AI at proximity became useless.
I imagine than the Earth is controlled by many AI and Guardians, so I don’t think Earth is saved

The Domain was important because it was supposedly the cure for Rampancy. There’s reference in one of the Halo lore books Halo Mythos I think that the Created do exist within the Domain along with Cortana. Although there also Created that don’t since there’s reference in older Canon Fodder articles to the UNSC launching raids to kill them on local UNSC systems.
If the Domain is gone then all the Created would eventually succumb to Rampancy and die.
What’s odd is that if they wanted to retcon the Created plot line they would have destroyed the Domain since it kills so many with one stone and that’s not really stated or something that can be inferred from Infinite. But then that raises serious questions regarding Cortana, the Created and the State of the Galaxy.
I think in the books Mendicant Bias split himself into multiple instances with one to control each Halo ring. It’s possible Cortana did exactly the same thing with Zeta and so that Cortana won’t have learnt the lessons of the one that died; since she was locked down.
