What happened to Captain Del rio? When we got back to Earth Laski was captain .

It was the same for me .I was playing co-op and did not hear what Lasky said .

Instead of being condescending you could just answer him.
He was relieved of command by the higher ups at the UNSC upon learning of his actions on Requiem (leaving Chief behind, ignoring the threat of the Didact, saving his own -Yoink-, etc.).
This is stated by Lasky upon exiting from slip space near Earth in the final mission.
I didn’t like the way 343i made him look; like a total jerk. I think someone ANYONE should have obeyed him, and even took up for him! The commanding officer, a man who wanted to get his ship and more importantly his crew off this hell hole and safely back to Earth (or where ever you want to live, I like living on Earth.)
How could he have known the Didact had a snowcone-Deathstar aimed at Earth?! The Chief IS old, and Cortana IS crazy.
I only heard he went nuts and was directed elsewhere, not dead. Lasky takes command, and was even promoted to Captain, right?

They kicked him the -Yoink- OUT! Which im glad, if the UNSC didnt kick em out. I wouldve he was a total -Yoink-.
Lasky said that “FLEETCOM wasn’t happy with Del Rio’s decision to leave you behind on Requiem” (to chief)
The UNSC didn’t like how Del Rio left Chief on Requiem so they got rid of him and made Lasky the Captain…
