When Chief finally meets up with Cortana, she says “I just needed to know if I could trust you”. What does she mean? What would he do to make her trust him? Does she still trust him?I’m just kind of confused lol.
Any ideas?
I think she meant trust him to not trying to stop her once her heard her entire plan to try to police the galaxy with her it’s ruler. Knowing how Chief would more than likely try to save mankind and the galaxy, it’s a conflict between the two of them.
Chief misses and feels responsible for Cortana as seen at the end of Halo 4, in the initial desert trailer and opening Blue Team cinematic but now that she has “cured” her rampancy, can pretty much rule the universe, and she is in love with Chief she wants to know if Chief will choose to be with her and perform the reclaimation together or if he will choose the side of human and the other species of the universe, standing against her. He choose to stand against and she locked him up. I also get the feeling that Cortana may have gonna insane because of the cure for rampancy judging from how she talks to you on Genesis and the hallucination Chief has on first Blue Team Mission.

But how does she know he wouldn’t try to stop her? He tried as hard as he could to convince her to come home, but he actually never got a chance to stop her physically because Cortana locked them in the cryptum.

She knows he would try to stop her because he made it clear that he wasn’t on board with her plans? I apologize, I don’t want to sound like a d*ck, but I don’t really understand how this wasn’t made clear to you…
