I don’t know if I missed something but, Cortana was taken out of the Domain when she was locked down by the Weapon? So does that mean the Domain is still there or is it stated that it was destroyed and that’s why all the Guardians are down?
As far as the Guardians are concerned, we only know of one of them, destroyed on Zeta, the others are unaccounted for. Its possible her being locked down severed her control over the Guardians, but that is never stated.
As for the Domain, it should still be there. The Domain, even with the initial Halo array firing, was never destroyed, just the connection to it was severed, so I doubt Cortana being locked down did anything to the Domain.
Yeah I am not sure. Definitely think the Guardians had some unique connection to Cortana so a random Created or the Warden couldn’t take them over. Otherwise they would have just rocked up when Cortana was put in lockdown. That crashed on you see in Halo Infinute is incredibly prominent in the skybox and is framed in a few cutscenes so I think that is establishing what’s going on to people who played Halo Infinite. I mean I look at that and I think “she’s dead”.
Atriox when he’s gloating says that Cortanas Empire is gone. Is he lying? He lied about the Chief being dead. Can we take anything he says at face value? What does that even mean exactly? Very hard to say and I think they’re being vague until they decide what they want to do.
If they do season 2 of the multiplayer and the trailer spells this out; which I suspect it will. We might get a better answer. You can imagine a CGI cutscene of Spartans on Earth with crashed Guardians and paint a picture from that. It could be the multi will deal with the regular galaxy whilst Chief is away on Zeta Halo.
The reason I ask is because, if these new threats on Zeta get really out of control, the nuclear option would be putting the Weapon in the Domain to stop them. If they had said, the Harbinger uses Precursor none sense to kill the Domain and the Created I would have said that was then drawing a line under it. But they’ve been ambivalent.
I mean would 343 have the loose ends of Guardians and Created carrying out their last automatic directives to uphold Cortanas Mantle even after she’s gone? It would be dark and make sense. I assume Halsey considered this in the plan to take out Cortana. Like it would mean they haven’t even freed humanity.
They’ve definitely taken the Chief away from the main galaxy so they don’t have to address these questions right away.

The domain is not gone. The forerunners had the ability to access it without having to be on genesis. It’s like the forerunner internet or forerunner “azure” platform
It is possible the harbinger was communicating with someone via the domain in the last mission of halo infinite seeing as the weapon said it’s a very old connection. It is precursor technology so maybe the xalanyn have complete mastery of it.
It’s possibly chief accessed cortanas data fragments via the domain as well. It’s would be weird for data to be floating without any storage. It must be the domain containing Cortana now destroyed a fragmented data
See a lot of people think they’ve entirely done away with the Created. But, if you’re going to go into the Precursors and the Logic Plague, having this obvious risk that they’ll just kill everybody or offer their bio trophies up to the Flood would be pretty relevant.
Otherwise it would be like:
Offensive Bias - “Beware the Logic Plague. Your machines will turn on you.”
Chief - “Well we banned most smart AI and killed most of them anyway because of this whole Created thing.
Offensive Bias - “Dodged a bullet there mate.”
there’s no danger in that reveal apart from to the Weapon.
