[Found this on Halo Nation on the storm covenant page. Most likely speculation, but still interesting. Read background.
Yeah…that’s pretty much the information a lot of us have all known for a few months now. But even then, it’s more complicated than that wiki says. I’d say more, but I’d rather not spread a leak.
Damn you Amazon.com…
Already knew most of the stuff but interesting none the less, but there are 2 types of covenant, The storm covenant = bad guys and the Arbiter and other elites = good guys
apparently Glasslands goes into some detail into why there are two sides but I’m not too sure my friends talks to me about it and i sort of pick up the story
Oh, yeah, head about that but didn’t read it.

Technically there are about four types of Covenant. We’ve got the Storm Covenant, we have the Covenant Loyalists led by the remaining Prophets and Brutes, we’ve got the Arbiter’s forces but they aren’t really a Covenant and in Glasslands we have a radical, Forerunner worshiping Elite cult led by an Elite Avu Med 'Telcam.
But that cult doesn’t appear to be the Storm, or at the very least it is one group that will join up with another to become the Storm.

Haha thanks for clearing that up, I had a vague idea about 2 sides but never knew about the other two, I guess that’s what happens when you don’t read the lore yourself
It’s no big deal, I’m happy to help clear things up.
