I can’t be bothered to play the campaign right now so I watched the HiddenXperia video from today about the Legendary ending of the game. So 343i just pulled a Bungie at the end of their tenure with Halo and changed the established history/canon of the Halo universe again. Originally Forerunners were just ancient humans. Then Bungie teased at them being different. 343i doubled down on that. Now it turns out the Forerunners are imposters too? Seems like another last minute bait and switch because someone thought the story was unoriginal and too much like Planet of the Apes?
