[Spoilers] Halo 6

Games Halo 5: Guardians

MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW

At the end of Halo 5, we saw cortana return with quite ambiguous motives. She wanted to rid the universe of evil while protecting Blue Team in a cryptum during the 10 000-year process it would take. What “ridding the universe of evil” means is quite unclear, but what we do know is there will be a Halo ring involved in the process. The legendary ending of Halo 5 shows Cortana on a Halo ring, and what better way to kill evil than to activate a Halo ring?. I have two theories on where Halo 6’s story will go:

First Theory
Remember when Cortana was abducted by The Gravemind in Halo 2, her genetic code may have been manipulated by him, after all that’s what The Gravemind does; he manipulates. The Gravemind may have known that the only thing between him and the floods salvation was John 117. So, he manipulated Cortana so that when John rescued her, the Gravemind would have control over Cortana. As mentioned before, the legendary ending of Halo 5 shows cortana on a Halo ring. The gravemind could make it seem as if cortana was going to activate the ring, and the only way for that to not happen would be for John (or who ever is helping him) to destroy the rings.

Second Theory
Cortana plans on activating a Halo ring, but she needs a human to activate it. This may be why she was initially going to protect Blue Team in a cryptum so she could exploit John’s emotional attachment to her to activate the ring. But since Blue Team escapes the Cryptum thanks to Exuberant Witness, John won’t activate the rings. Instead he will try to destroy them. John may even summon the flood to aid him in stopping Cortana from activating the rings like in Halo 3.

If you listen in the mission the monitor that Osiris meats says that a guardian could effectively police an entire galaxy (or system was it?) Cortana herself also sent a message out to all races in the galaxy saying that if they did not all lay down their weapons then they would have to face the consequences…my theory is she plans to achieve piece in the galaxy by using overwhelming force…I think that most of the fighting will be the various races against the promethians and Cortana in an attempt to keep their ways of life

I thought it was going to be like the dictator that movie with Sacha Baron Cohen but with cortana as the dictator and Chief as the stinky vegan boy

Weren’t the flood wiped completely after Halo 3? Halo 4’s was more of a non-canon deal, and Halo 3 was the last time we saw Canon Flood.

Then again, Escalation had that infection form on the ship…

I don’t know what your -Yoink!- with the Flood is, but I strongly doubt they will be involved.
Cortana perfectly recites some of the lines from the Didact during the Epilogue of Halo 4. She has definitely been affected by the Forerunners in some fashion. But, there is no reason to believe that the Flood are involved.

Flood samples (?) were on the original Halo, so why can’t there be samples on all of them?

There are still living, breathing, unaffected Precursors out there.

Well, yes. The plot for Halo 6 is given away pretty much on mission 15. Cortana says that if any are to rise up, they would be destroyed by fire, and within those ashes, they would be brought up again in “their image” - which CLEARLY indicates the use of the Halo Rings to destroy, and then redesign life in the image of what Cortana thinks. Halo 6 will see the bond being severed between Cortana and John, and possibly even the death.

I have two ideas for what will be coming next

  1. Graveminds can afflict Human and Forerunner AI’s with a logic plague. That’s why Mendicant Bias turned on the Forerunners and tried to stop the Halos from firing. Cortana has been effected by this during her contact with the Gravemind (who also probably induced rampancy a bit sooner than normal, as the Flood can do). Knowing that the Flood can basically turn AI’s to their side, a Gravemind is waiting for Cortana to activate the Guardians and have complete control, so that IT can have complete control. How easy would it be to win when you have the most destructive forces in the galaxy on your side? The Gravemind could easily be turning Cortana against her creators like the Flood did to Bias

  2. According to the Forerunner books, Humanity is to be tested again before they can truly claim the Mantle of Responsibility. Since the Domain is Precursor in origin, Cortana going into the Domain and taking control of the Guardians is the start of the final test. Whether the Precursors themselves will appear or not, I can’t say, but I feel like if this is the path 343 takes with the story, it could set up something big for future Halo games

Both of these ideas could actually be linked and go together since the Flood are Precursors, but could also stand alone and have nothing to do with each other. We’ll just have to wait and see

I don’t know what the significance of a Halo ring is, when an army of Guardians can control the galaxy anyway, without the complete death and destruction. Either way, I hope I get to kill Miss Delusions of Grandeur.

What I’m wondering is if the Didact infused some of his consciousness into what was left of Cortana. Because his body was destroyed in Halo: Escalation, but his mind was digitized if I remember correctly and Cortana ends up perfectly quoting what he said at the end of Halo 4.

That would be fun. Means the most irritating enemies in Halo history would be extinct by 7.

True, but that seems like a really odd coincidence to me.

Halo 6
mid way through the campaign
Chief ventures onto the Halo we saw in the legendary ending of halo 5.
The UNSC and Arbiter’s forces arrive outside the control room. Arbiter and Lasky tells John that before they can deal with Guilty Spark (Who is the main villain of the game and still alive/check the halo wiki) that they have to deal with Cortana.
There’s a big war above the control room building between The UNSC and Arbiter’s forces against Guilty Spark’s who’s trying to stop them from getting to Cortana. Lasky tells Chief to get inside and finish Cortana.
As Chief boards his Pelican, He tells Blue team and Osiris that this is something he has to do on his own.
Chief takes the pelican to the entrance of the Control Room and enters, noticing that there isn’t any resistance.
He sees cortana sitting on top of the panel hugging her knees and he lowers his Assault Rifle.
Keep what you steal from Halo 3 (extended version plays)
Cortana: I know what I did. I’m sorry. Now do what you have to.
Chief: You murdered millions of people Cortana. But I know Guilty Spark (who is alive check the halo wiki) used you. You know his plans and you can still save more than those who were killed by the Guardians.
Cortana looks at Chief
Cortana: How can you forgive me Chief? After all I’ve done.
Chief: I made Johnson a promise before he died. I won’t ever let you go. And You know me. When i make a promise…
Cortana: You… keep it. I do know how to pick em.
Chief: Just lucky I guess. Let’s finish this. Together.

Cortana looks at it. smiles faintly and places her hand on it. Chief puts the chip into his helmet.
Cortana: Still plenty of room here I see.
Chief: Don’t get any funny ideas.

Cortana: Just keep your head down. there’s two of us in here now.
Chief: I missed you.
Cortana: Me too…John

Then they blow up The Pillar of Autumn destroying Alpha Halo & they escape through the Ark Portal, but it collapses and they end up just outside of Requiem.

In Amber Clad flies over head, the long sword crashes into it, Johnson yells “You know, for a rock, he flew pretty good!”

“Covenant Boarding parties on decks 5, 6 & 11.”

“I need a weapon.”

“I know what the ladies like.”

“Thanks for the Tank, he never gets me anything.”

Suddenly, Gravemind tentacles pull chief under water because he just killed a Prophet, but not before he uploaded Cortana into High Charity so she could remote detonate the ship if needed.

Unexpectedly, the arbiter grabs his new helmet, “What would you have your arbiter do?”

“Why the ark, of course.” 343 sputters.

Lord Hood breaks radio silence, “Sierra 117, New Mombasa is under attack, and I would have been your daddy, but a dog beat me over the fence.”

“New contacts! They’re every where, they’re not covenant, I repeat not covenant!”

Cortana appears in a vision to the chief “THE CAPTAIN! WE HAVE TO STOP THE CAPTAIN!”

Halo doesn’t kill the flood it kills their food, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have left out that little bit ofWe did what we had to do! For Earth! An entire Covenant armada obliterated, and the Flood! We had no choice. Halo … It’s finished." information, I’ll edit it into the post.

Covenant are digging up a hole in earth, we don’t know why. “We go out & they come in, clever -Yoinks!-.”

Space elevator falls. "Just Dust & Echoes… It’s finished.
“No… I think We’re just getting started.”

HALO 3 triumphant music starts.

“HALO 6: RESTROSPECTIVE”
