I just completed the campaign for Halo 5: Guardians and I had some questions that I hope those with intricate knowledge of the Halo universe can help answer:

How did Cortana enter the “domain”? Did this happen between Halo 4 and 5 when what remained of her stayed on the Didact’s “wrecked” ship? - Speaking of the Didact, why was he a no-show in Halo 5? Was he the Warden, or was the Warden another entity entirely separate from the Didact? - Did the Halo Universe (books, comics, etc.) make any mention of the “Guardians” before this game? I have only read a handful of books, and I think they revolved around an ONI squad post Halo 3 (Glasslands, Thursday War, Mortal Dictata). - What “type” of installation is Genesis? Is it a shield world like Requiem or something entirely new? - Why didn’t Cortana try to contact Roland (Infinity A.I.)? She obviously reached out to quite a few A.I., was it because Roland wasn’t yet nearing rampancy?Speculation

Is the Covenant truly eradicated? I think they will hang around in some form or another (because the enemy types have been around since Halo 1… and Elites are so much better to fight than Prometheans). I wasn’t sure if what remained of the Covenant was defeated by the Arbiter on Sanghelios or if there were more still out there. - Will Locke remain the major player in the next Halo game? Or will we see the Chief take center stage again?First time on these forums in a while, so go easy on me. Let me know what you think, thanks!
