So after beating mission 5 we get a cutscene where Chief and Locke fight in hand to hand combat, now did anyone else notice that they felt clunky and heavy, i mean with all the agility and there armour should allow them too be able to move around a lot more agile like they seemed very heavy when fighting, i feel like 343i should take a good look at how the RvB (Red vs Blue) fights are done cause who else would love too see a actual fist fight like the RvB ones?
Makes it even more bad when you see Osiris just watching and not doing anything.
Blue Team was watching from the side lines as well.
And yeah, I agree with that. The Spartan-IIs were described to move extremely fluently and lightning quick, more like machines then actual people inside the suits. And if you’ve read Fall of Reach, the first Halo book, Captain Keyes saw the Spartans sparring with hand-to-hand and described them as “a rapid-fire blur of punches he could barely follow”. The fight did look sloppy and clunky for two augmented supersoldiers… especially considering that Locke had the more advanced GEN-2 MJOLNIR while the Chief would’ve been stronger and faster and well more experienced. Like Mendez stated, the IIs would only grow more stronger as they aged older.

They went through the portal.
The fight was awesome

When I first noticed Osiris just watch Locke get his -Yoink- kicked, I cringed.
Theres credible reasons why the rest of Osiris didn’t step in.
But I do agree that it should have been much faster in terms of pace.
Awesome fight though.
Just saying, the spoiler and the spoiled content in the same title doesn’t really work together.

Tell me these credible reasons because the way I see it, nothing was stopping Osiris from helping Locke tackle the Chief down and using the armor restraint on him.

Exactly my point they it should have been a much faster and intense fight, like the ones we see in some on the RvB episodes.

True that, it wasn’t just Locke’s mission it was Osiris’ mission as well, maybe they did it out of honour? 1v4 might have been a bit unfair to them? or they were just curious to see what would happen? idk strange.
I thought it was just fine as it was, want to watch it again now

It’s called respect. Having to take Blue Team down doesn’t mean cluster-jumping the Chief. Even the most highly trained soldiers have a code that goes beyond their orders.
I thought it was like an old school japanse movie fight. It was quite entertaining. :’-)
Yeah it did feel a bit clunky and that it shoulve been more agile.

They were on a moving platform too far away to help until after chief went through the portal.

Not really. More of a stand off. Seeing who is better. More of a fair play.
It was incredibly slow and they did look bulky/slow when throwing their punches. It was funny seeing Locke getting his -Yoink- kicked. It should’ve been faster.
I agree with the points you raise but I still do think it was a good fight. Great to watch. Osiris didn’t step in because it was between those two, it’s just something they had to let happen.
Anyone notice Locke drew his gun on Chief just as he got his armour locked up? Must’ve gotten worried for a second.
Osiris didn’t step in out of respect for the Chief, they’d all be dead one way or another without him and didn’t want it to be an unfair undignified 1v4 dogfight.
The Spartan II’s will be ageing, they’d be about 60’ish now, even with all the cryo sleep. (Yes yes i know the spartan II suits are designed to move in thought of the combatants will, just a mere thought makes the suit move) but their suits are also ageing. They’re not as new a Locke’s set so obviously they wouldn’t be as agile.
EDIT: Just a food for thought - if they were moving at the speed/strength you’re all asking would you be able to relate to them as humans? No, you probably wouldn’t, and you probably wouldn’t enjoy the game as much if you felt like you couldn’t relate.
