so…how exactly did the chief survive that nuke?
Cortana saved him. To my understanding she pulled him inside the computer that she lived in. Don’t quote me on that though, I’m just stating what it looked like.
I thought she teleported him, like in CE?
I’m beginning to think Cortana isn’t even dead
> I’m beginning to think Cortana isn’t even dead
Not dead. Missing In Action.
Probably something to do with his mutation.
I’m kinda curious as to how they’re going to continue this story.
On an unrelated note, the Chief could use a break…
Since Cortana had been inserted into the facility she and Chief were in, she was able to tap into the projector for the hard-light bridge and wrap the Chief in a “box” of hard-light, shielding him from the blast.
Furthermore, this explains how Cortana is able to “rise up” out of the bridge to subdue the Didact and, afterwards, physically touch the Chief because she projected a physical image of herself using hard-light.
> Probably something to do with his mutation.
Also THAT. What the -Yoink- was THAT?

Makes sense to me. I’m also glad they didn’t leave the chief floating around in space again…

Makes sense if you’ve read the forerunner saga. Forerunners mutate multiple times during their lifetime. My guess is that it is similar to evolution, just instant. Obviously humans can too, but no one knows. The Librarian put chief through a mutation

I’ve read a bit of Cryptum, and I know about Forerunners mutating, but I’m still not exactly sure what happened

Most likely a “Brevet” Mutation

Nice, thanks man…it was late by the time I got to the end and my mind was a bit like “wtf?”. Makes sense now, cheers.
