…change in the way the campaign goes compared to the E3 gameplay demo?

In that video, it seems as though Master Chief hadn’t seen any type of prometheans, but according to the campaign that shipped on disc, he met them well and truly before. Also, none of those scenes ended up playing out like that at all.
Why the sudden change do you think?
Yeah, I noticed that too. They changed it I guessed, that was still relatively early.
Frankie states somewhere that the E3 level demo was based on the level Infinity, with different combat encounters, notably the entrance of Prometheans. It wouldn’t make sense fighting Prometheans, if we haven’t encountered them before, right?
Think how they showed the level Forerunner. Imagine if they showed that instead of the E3 level.
It wasn’t a sudden change, the E3 demo was done to show off several things so the level scripting was tailored specifically to do so. It’s like the “Some time later…” black screens in the Call of Duty demos to showcase only the big set pieces.
It was just put together as a demo for E3.
They used that level to show the graphics engine and also to introduce the prometheans. I don’t think the level forerunner would have been a good introductory video.
Although when I first played the campaign I was wondering the same thing as I remembered that elite getting zapped.
