Is it just me or was the final boss fight disappointing? That must of been the weakest boss I have ever encountered in a video game ever. It reminded me of that horrendous Jurassic park game where you did nothing but click buttons at a certain time. Wouldn’t it have been great if you actually was able to fight him? 343 should of even considered making Cortana the final boss who overtook the ships defense system and spawned a bunch of Forunners against you. Wouldn’t that have been a better ending for Halo 4? Killing wave after wave of enemies? I can just tell that 343 is going to make MC do a complete repeat of saving Cortana just like he did when she was left with Gravemind. I am really disappointed.
LOL at calling it a ‘fight’!!!
As much as I would love to kick the Didact’s ancient butt, I must say that Halo hasn’t been exactly good with Bosses. It would probably end as a damage sponge at the level of Tartarus on Halo 2, or worse
I like the quick time event. Historically speaking, boss fights have never been what I’d consider the highlights of games. They delude down to either learning a pattern, or trying to make it soak as much damage up as possible until it dies. Often times, both.
Skipping the boss fight in favor of something else actually seems to work out a bit better, and having a quick time event allows them to make the final confrontation in the form of a cutscene, but it still offers the player some minor control so he feels like he’s doing something.
To me, this works out the best way possible.
> Killing wave after wave of enemies?
No, that’d be stale.
I want a 1 on 1 fight. No tricks (force powers), no support. Just running and gunning.

Why would they throw in a gravity hammer on this level only?

Except that pattern tends to change. It didn’t with the Halo bosses which is why they failed.
lol how can the master chief fight the didact. everytime he tried to shoot the didact, the didact responded by lifting him up with “the force” and disabling movement. the didact honestly could have killed the MC twice had he not stopped to talk for a few minutes.
Personally I hate pre-scripted events like this. It makes me feel like I’m playing the god-awful Battlefield 3 campaign. Halo has always been known for it’s open sandbox style gameplay and to me, pre-scripted crap like this (and the button pressing, good lord) are something that need to go as they have no place in a Halo game
I’m glad I’m not the only one. Have you noticed that the beginning is much like the awakening of chief during CE? I feel like there might be another ODST or Reach game where it depicts what happen during MC nap. Of course we probably wont see that until Halo 5 or 6.
The Didact is on a different power scale compared to MC.
Being on that Light Bridge and having Cortana go rampant were the major things that allowed the Chief to succeed.
