SPOILER ALERT!! The Diadact

So was it just me who thought the Diadact fight was very very unsatisfying.
I was saving the best weapons loading up for a boss fight in the end and then, stick a grenade to his chest, 3 sec later boom dead… They create a super beef guy with telepatic abilities just to have him die of 1 grenade…
He deserved better!

I was pissed. I wanted to pwn that fool.

Well, with his telepathic abilities, a real-time sequence would be annoying, as he’d just chuck you against a wall and drop you over a cliff like he was trying to do.

I think you mean he deserved worse. I wanted to DESTROY him!

they chould have fixed that so he charged up his abilities or something, like in halo 3 against the Brute boss, he ran around with his hammer and you had to dodge and jump out of the way

That entire bloody room was set up for a gigantic boss battle in the middle. Honestly I was looking forward to fighting him in some sort of cliched boss battle. After I stuck the grenade to him I was like, this is it, he’s wounded, now we can do an epic boss battle sequence relatively realistically, but noooo, he just fell off the bridge leaving me entirely unsatisfied.

and yeah, me to :stuck_out_tongue: i saved the brute hammer from half the chapter to beat the crap out of him and i didnt get to use it once -.-

I have no problems how things ended.
The Didact has been composed and may be able to jump to the level of meta-being that Cortana has become.
This all allowed by a moment that really couldn’t have been any other way due to the power of the Didact. His ability to teleport, manipulate matter and raise extremely power personal shielding pretty much meant another Tartarus moment… And I don’t want one of those.

I miss the old days when bosses where everywhere, now it’s just slowmotion film sequenses and half integratied movies half the games. i dont run a round for 6 hours killing mobs to se a movie, i want to kill something big!

This is probably my only complaint with the campaign. I wanted to engage in at least some form of gameplay with the Didact…

Highly doubt he died. If Master Chief can survive a nuke, the Didact certainly can.

It wasn’t a Boss fight but more of a confrontation. The Didact is a Warrior Class Forunner, regardless of his telepathic ability he’s a warrior with genes passed down from one forerunner to the next. Millenia of experiences. I’m not depicting him as immortal, I’m just saying he’s powerful and very resilient. I think that we’ll eventually “fight him” in the next Halo titles, but were not done with the Didact.

Not to mention his voice is in the epilogue and his Prometheans are still active on Requiem 6 months after the New Phoenix/Didact Incident.

Even with genetic mods by the Librarian and possibly new armor in the future, 343 has already made it clear the Didact makes humbles Chief with force powers. Not even the mighty BR can stand a chance if it can’t be fired at him.

A boss fight with the Didact would have been severally one sided ;/

the whole EMP on a cyborg/AI entity vs EMP-ing an organic entity situation is what happened.

I wanted to warm up my walnuts in the Didacts mouth while Cortana held him down…

On a serious note though, can you imagine the Chiefs attitude when he finds out the Didact is still alive? $#!£ is gonna hit the fan and the next two games (or at least No.6), Chief is gonna be unleashing crate after crate of whoop–Yoink-!
