WOW So now Requiem is gone, Dr Halsey is missing an arm and wants revenge. The Infinity and its crew are safe, Whats everyone’s thoughts or speculations?
Thoughts
I felt it was a bit cliche that all the spartans made it back alive, they had such a shining moment right there where a spartan could have been sacrificial and join the ranks of the rest of the MIA epic last stands, but ehh not a big concern. My thoughts though is that they ended it very well and openly! the story can take any direction it wants now that its not on requiem.
Speculation
Dr. Halsey has always had a soft spot for John, she wants revenge but at the same time she now knows John is alive. I wonder what twist this is pull into the plot
Well we have perfectly good prosthetic characters already in the Halo universe like SGT Obyrne and Kat. Im just going to go ahead and think either the Sangheili dont have good medical research due to their honor code about being wounded, or they just dont know enough about the human anatomy to help at all. I see her laying a trap soon to get John to help her with her plans somewhere along the lines. Possibly making a fake Cortana transmission
But Palmer is just being what a Spartan is trained to be and following orders, it’s the people at the top making the poor decisions that need to be dealt with, not the soldiers.
The ending is really stupid. Halsey would never want revenge unless she has gone mad. And thats what Traviss portrays her as, a mad scientist. And now it is actually true.
I want to know why the hell did they cut her arm off? I mean seriously, their medical technology should have been able to save her arm. It was a gun shot, like her arm got completely mangled or something.
The missions were lacking to say the least.
As far as the ending goes…

I don’t think Halsey really wants revenge… Either way now that I’ve seen the ending I kinda hope that their is a season 2 of spartan ops. A space chase for the other half of the key is not my idea of an awesome Halo 5. Please, finish that off in a season 2.
Whether orders are order or not Palmer should still have a conscious. Trying to kill Halsey just cause they said so? And knowing she made John how he is now, the hero of the human race, I wouldn’t want to do that Chief will find out eventually. But with what is happening now I think that she will possibly trick the covenant and try to get John in on the story. But if Chief gets to that point he might be in the middle of both Halsey and the UNSC/Oni. But knowing him he will probably side with Halsey.
Halsey, I hope doesn’t get destroyed though in Season 2.
I was kinda sad and mad when I was watching the conclusion episode.

Not enough fire bases that need defending and buttons that need pressing out in space though.

I lost it when my AI on seize the power werent engaging ground forces and they were all carrying rocket launchers (I gave it to them) and were just shelling the lich non stop

Is she now? She ignores Del Rio when she is ordered to arrest Master Chief but when someone needs to kill Halsey guess what? Palmer wants to kill her and says “orders are orders” unless I want to ignore them.
