Ummm… does anybody know any differences between the two?
One looks cooler.
SPNKR will probably have extra buffs added to it because it is supposed to be a legendary weapon, plus the SPNKR is the original rocket launcher and it looks way cooler than our peashooter of a rocket launcher right now.
One is cool, the other I always call “the Plum.”
I don’t know.
Or is it just purely a cosmetic. No difference at all but it just looks cooler…
Dual tubed?
It will probably have the classic crosshair. Other than that, if its available in Forge, which one you place will be personal preference.

I forgot what the classic crosshair looked like
Its been a while
Doesn’t the SPNKR launcher lock on to target but the new rocket launcher doesn’t?

Depends if its the CE or Halo 2 SPNKR.
CE one didn’t lock on but had an insane blast radius, and the Halo 2 one had lock on against all vehicles.
I saw a video that shows how the SPNKr rocket launcher may have lock on, but we’ll have to wait and see.

I believe that was the Mythic Variant, which I believe will have lock on against all vehicles, air and ground.
I think we are discussing the default variant and how it will be different, if it even is different, to the Rockets already in Halo 5.
I do believe the spnkr is just going to be a stronger version of the new rocket launcher possibly without lock on and its just a fire and forget kinda deal. More for anti infantry but honestly, if it has any real changes, itll make the current one worthless because the new one is only really usefull against taking out a banshee as it does -Yoink- for nothing against things like tanks.
i think we have to wait for the update to find out the difference!
I believe the regular rocket launcher has a higher velocity and a smaller blast radius

There is a difference, Normal RL has faster rocket acceleration, takes longer to fire the second rocket but has faster reload. Meaning SPNKr can fire 2 rockets faster, but ends up taking longer to reload. So if you need to fire 2 rockets quickly like at a tank or something you are better off with SPNKr, rest of the the time normal rocket (both times to fire and reload end up adding to the same number) other than that I don’t know.
Detailed differences (non aesthetic)
