splitscreen, 1 less exuse

> Throughout all of our connected experiences we’ve embraced dedicated servers, which we use to run our Co-op campaign and multiplayer experiences (including custom games). We’ve re-architected our game systems, services and networking to take advantage of Xbox Live cloud compute for physics and AI calculation in Warzone and campaign Co-op. The combination of the Xbox One console and Xbox Live cloud compute allows us to deliver Halo at a greater scale and gameplay fidelity than ever before

so wait, you off loaded ai calculations and the physics engine to the cloud and you still can’t deliver split screen? seriously, we can handle a graphics and fps drop to play with our brothers, sisters, house/room mates and friends. you’re running out of excuses 343
am i missing something here? what do you people think of this?

I think the Xbox One is essentially a POS and they had to cut a million things for the highest quality gameplay.
Bye.

The cloud is awesome. It gives games like Crackdown 3 multiplayer 100% destructible environments.

This is basically the answer, in a nutshell.

You’re missing the part where they said that the whole campaign was architectured to the framerate. It doesn’t matter if you can support a framerate drop or graphics hit, the game can’t.

And I don’t see how the cloud helps you with the fact that splitscreen literally splits the screen in half and has to render and display everything twice. You can’t offload a screen to the cloud, that kind of has to still be in front of you. You could offload practically everything onto the cloud, but we don’t know how much stress that would case, and it would make connectivity a crucial component. If your network dips a little bit, the feedback from the game could be entirely cut off considering how much information it’s working with.
