Split Screen

So I understand that Co-Op split screen will be limited to 2 players.

Does that also mean that split screen multiplayer (PVP) will also be limited to 2 players? I hope not, as Halo has always been a fun couch party game.

Split screen is limited to 2 people per screen whilst online coop for campaign is at 4 players.

So yes Multiplayer i imagine will also limit people to 2 people per screen on multiplayer

I’m a little bummed that it’s only 2 player splitscreen. Don’t get me wrong, I really glad splitscreen is back, but sharing a screen with 3 others is so much fun!

True but remember Halo 1 and 2 only had 2 player splitscreen for co-op. Atleast its back, thank god.

this gives me hope that Co-Op is the only split screen that is limited to 2 players and that PVP will allow 4 players because that was the case for the older games… I can hope!

I feel kind of tricked by 343 here, because they said split-screen would be back, and then went right to saying 4 player co-op will be possible, which feels like an indication that it will be 4 player split-screen, but nope

Dude…
4 player split screen multiplayer is still not confirmed nor denied.
And that would be a real bummer if its denied.
I dont care about 120 fps… just give me 30 fps ill be happy, i need my 4 player split screen for mp.

You can probably thank 343 for deciding to support the original Xbox One for the limitation of 2 player split screen.

campaign never had 4 player split screen in any of the halos

Pretty sure all Halo Co Op was locked at only 2 players but even then with how much the game has to process, I imagine it will be locked at 2 so it will be playable.

Ah, my bad. I couldn’t remember if 3 or Reach had 4 player split screen in campaign.

none of them had 4 player split screen, not 3, not reach…
But halo 3 had 4 player coop on campaign. That means you could have 2 player split screen on your xbox… and someone else on another xbox could have 2 player split screen and play together online.

Honestly we don’t know yet. As of right now all we know is split-screen will exist in multiplayer, but not how many it will be.

They’re aware the importance of couch gaming in Halo, so all I can say is that they’re aware that we would like 4 players on one tele.

I’ll stick with Halo 2 Vista for 4 players split screen then
