split screen

My little brother and I have been long time halo fans and disappointed when halo 5 did not have split screen. we want split screen back! Also, multiplayer with the campaign? I know there will be free multiplayer, but if there is online play for campaign then that part of multiplayer will not be free? what do you guys think?

Hi. They confirmed 2 player splitscreen and up to 4 player Co-Op for the campaign. The campaign is $60, not free, only the multiplayer.

Of course. I’m assuming you mean two people each on their own console you can play the campaign via Co-Op

I’m super excited to see this feature back, but I certainly won’t give 343 a pat on the back for it. You lose trust by removing an essential gameplay feature for a series, giving it back fixes the problem for me but there certainly is still a net loss of trust.

yes splitscreen was kinda a staple of halo but the graphics would be weird, if it were to be splitscreen since it is sharing a screen and holding back graphics

i dont know i think thats why halo 5 had no splitscreen

Removing split screen from Halo was definitely a very strange decision on 343’s part. I can understand why they did it, as the entire gaming industry in general was moving away from splitscreen. They also probably did not want to sacrifice graphics and frame rate for split screen. That being said, I think allowing the player the option to have split screen knowing you would be making sacrifices to graphics and frame rate should have still been there. At least it’s coming back finally!

Well that (and the horrible story) is the reason why i never played halo 5. I mean, halo was always the game where you invited your friends over, played with your brother, sister…

Not for me. I have never used split screen and never will. I know players that used to have friends over for lan parties but not split screen. However, that was before internet was mainstream, when Halo CE dropped we were still on dial up in my home town. Things have changed now.

I respect that some players enjoy split screen, and it’s great that 343i are putting it back in for them. I’m curious how many use it now though. Most players I know that had lan parties are grown up with families, including me. It’s much easier to start a party and play over Xbox Live.

My sons play games now, and they have never played split screen, I wonder how many actually do these days.

Considering how many I see playing MCC online, it has to be a lot. Every 3rd or 4th match has at least 1 set of split-screeners, regardless of which game you play.

How many are on MCC each time your on ? If you say it’s regardless of what you’re playing. That’s one in 12 to 16 in 4v4. In BTB you’re talking 1 in 24 to 36 etc. I’m sure it’s still used and clearly a feature that some want. I just don’t think it’s as big of a deal as it used to be because of XBL. I still say it’s great that 343i are adding it back in though.
