Split-Screen Question

I was just wondering if I am correct or not. From what I know Halo 4 will include four player split-screen in campaign and two player split-screen in multiplayer. Shouldn’t it be the other way around like in previous Halo games? I would hate to buy more than one copy of the game just so I can play with the other three of my family members. Thanks.

Multiplayer is only 2 local, where did you see this?

In a Spartan Ops video and in a multiplayer video. I apologize for not posting links.

If OP is correct, than this should be changed immediately.

The videos are on Halo Waypoint. It is David Welch who says this. Please, give it a look.

If your saying you dont want to have to buy an extra copy too play with your fam this could be a good oportunity to convince your fam to pitch in on the LE console. It comes with a copy as well, chip in the most keep the console for yourself give them the old one and the standerd edition copy this is what im doin with my gf 8p.

I am positively certain I remember hearing that MP is now only 2 player splitscreen. Likely because they plan to include Forged maps again and 4 player splitscreen made forge maps unbearably laggy. They had to drop Invasion to just 2-split in order to include forged maps.

I do not remember ever hearing that campaign was 4-player split though. Maybe this is because campaign is (probably) on it’s own disc now. This would be a cool new feature though. I’ve always wanted that.

The thing about split screen, is that It has to render more, so it can be quite problematic for the game.

That.

Reach’s poor split-screen support crippled Forge, and 343i’s insistence on supporting four-player split-screen in certain playlists crippled those playlists. If the choice is between cutting split-screen and crippling the game engine, the former is indisputably the better option.

Spartan ops =/= multiplayer op.

Here is what I interpret it as.

4-player splitscreen = co-op

4-player splitscreen = local/non-live multiplayer

2-player splitscreen = live multiplayer

I presume it will be like every other halo game, 4-player splitscreen multiplayer (local and online) and 2-player splitscreen for campaign and spartan-ops

> Spartan ops =/= multiplayer op.

I was referring to a Spartan Ops video where David Welch mentions multiplayer.

Is it true, that all matchmaking playlist does support only 2 local players? :frowning: Because if so, I got a big shot; I have always admired that option in Halo, it is unique and haven’t been in any other game. Possibility to play 4-player split screen in public multiplayer. (Uncharted, Black ops and modern warfare 2 have option only for 2-player) I used it a lot when playing with friends. It was pure fun to play 4v4 games with own team sitting next to you. If it is gone, I’m disappointed.

For campaign 4-split screen, I’m super excited, if it is true. But I’m not happy that it replaces the matchmaking one 8(

come on, why these threads always die, when I post to them ._____.

Pretty sure it’s:

4 Player split screen offline
2 Player over Live
2 player splitscreen for campaign

doesnt sound to bad to me , i think 2 players online and 4 offline is actually good , playing splitscreen 2 people online can be annoying , so 4 will be worse

YOU have to buy another copy of Halo 4 to play with your family members?

If you are playing with brothers or father, couldn’t one of them buy another copy? It would be fair.
