Split Screen problems

Hi there,
I used to play halo 4 campaign split screen until i completed it and a few split screen slayer as well, then one day i noticed that to the left and right of the screen was blank.

I removed some maps and game types i downloaded thinking it was the cause but it didnt work.

i recently downloaded the free halo 3 and i was so annoyed when i saw that the split screen was missing the left and right corners aswell.
Please can anyone help me?
because of this i am no longer enjoying the game.

Thank you in advance,

Have you recently started using an HDMI cable for your xbox 360?

Can you link to a screenshot of what you’re looking at exactly?

Can you also check for any yellow “!” files on your storage device?

He’s saying that while he plays splitscreen there’s black bars on the left and right sides of the screen overlay. This is because he’s playing on a widescreen tv. The game keeps splitscreen aspects proportional to 4:3 layout I believe, and thus you get the black gaps on each side. It’s probably also to help with keeping vertical and horizontal look sensitivity proportional so one doesn’t get sped up to an exaggerated amount. (In this case up and down would be slow while left and right would look faster).

I have been using the HDMI cable from the start and i completed the campaign co-op with no issuses and then one day we were onling getting a fraction of the screen…

about a quater of the screen on the left and right isint showing, ive tried it on a big screen and a smaller screen but getting the same problem, it affects halo 3 as well.

Does nobody read my solutions? I literally typed in what it is just above your post, OP. It’s not a problem. It’s an intentional aspect of the game.

ohh iam sorry,

so it was nornaml and then by it self it becomes abnormal and there is no way to fix it?
so far the only games playing normal in split screen mode is minecraft and farcry 3, favourites like resident evil 5 and both halos arnt.

Correct. Some games are coded this way to keep the player’s perspective similar to that on 1player mode.
