Hey all I had a friend over today and we played some halo 2 split screen co op which worked fine and was fun as heck. But then I tried to go into the MP section and I would select team slayer or BTB and then we would sit in the searching screen for a bit before being knocked back to the playlist select screen. We couldn’t play any multiplayer at all. Any ways around this bug?
This used to happen to me every now and then. I think the only fix I had was giving it time… like, a day’s worth of time, though. You can also try fully restarting your Xbox.
I ran into this one the other day with a friend. We could do custom games and co-op, but when it comes to multiplayer it would do just as you talked about. Did at least 10 hard resets, but nothing worked. Have never had a problem playing with a guest before the other day. The only thing different is the new xbox update that just came out. Not sure if it’s related, but like i said, no issues playing with a guest before the update.

A full restart of the Xbox and the game usually does the trick
I have the same problem with MP, I am pretty sure that the Update makes the problem. I where a member of the microsoft insider program, so I got the firmware before it was available for everyone. After the Update, the splitscreenmode didn’t work anymore. Then I canceled my membership and did a downgrade to the last Update. So It was possible to play in Splitscreenmode again. Two days later we all got the official Update and now the Splitscreen is again not playable but anything else is okay. I contacted microsoft support and they said in the end (after every possibility which where in their competence to fix it) that the problem is a broken Xbox, Äh sure with my story… of course its not. :D.

Any time there is any change to anything relating to the xbox or the MCC the MCC gets messed up more

Looks like my assumptions may have been correct with the update causing MP splitscreen issues. Thanks for the post!

Seems like it… Hopefully we will get a fix soonish. For me, the moment of opportunity has passed and I’m sad that I didn’t get to use the split screen MP.

I’m honestly in disbelief over this whole thing
My wife and I play Halo MC almost daily together online. Sometimes we even have -Yoink!- while playing. It is great, but this has really hurt our sexual relationship as of late. I hope 343 resolves this issue soon.
Same here me and my wife used to play it everytime after work or when my friends came over will play since most of them moved away from halo it was always fun having everyone over and playing like the old days. 343 please fix it soon!

Check your network settings for your Xbox in the network settings option. If that doesn’t work try doing a clear alternate MAC address in your advanced settings under network settings. If that doesn’t do it do a hard reset to your Xbox that should fix it.

Well I reset the system when I first encounter the problem and it didn’t do nothing still having the same problem I agree with someone else that said after my Xbox one S got a update after I did it splitscreen didn’t work anymore after that update
Same issue here. Tech support told me to buy the game again. Can you believe that mess?
