Every time I try to play with two people on my console over matchmaking, after about 10 seconds of searching for players in a playlist it boots me and my guest back to the lobby. This has been going on for the past week. I know other people are having the same issues, but is 343 going to fix this or am I just out of luck?
You are not alone. I can’t add a guest either. I have to log in another gamer tag.
What a great game 343!
343 has made a franchise I’ve played for 16 years not only unenjoyable, but actually frustrating to play. I didn’t think that was even possible lol.

This is a confirmed workaround:
If you have the other players sign in as separate Xbox live accounts (instead of guests) it works fine. Note it doesn’t have to be a paid xbox live account.
Check the playlists as well. You can’t do ranked with guests. Social playlists utilize different engines, so depending how the parameters work, one may be broken for guests on a certain engine. My first guess would be guest support for Halo CE seeing as it didn’t have Live functionality in the first place.Go to customs, sign in a guest, and try loading a game into each Halo engine. If 1 fails, more than likely playlists that feature that engine won’t work as well as it may preload the engine data while searching.Not sure how they configure stuff on this game but id start there. If the games load then it’s a prolly in the Lobby UI screwing it up
So is anything actually being done about this or are the millions of classic halo fans just -Yoink- out of luck becuase 343 doesn’t give a -Yoink-. The guest split screen function worked just fine until like November of 2017 so whatever dumb -Yoink- patch the updated then broke it.
