How exactly is split-screen going to work in H5G? Around November Josh Holmes confirmed there would be 2-Player split-screen for Halo 5 and more recently split-screen co-op was confirmed cut for the final release. Because of this we know that split-screen will be limited to 2 players and only be in multiplayer but not campaign. My question is how will split-screen in H5G improve upon what was there for Halo 4? I’ll list some of my problems with Halo 4’s split-screen below.
- Causes massive frame drops on any forge map and some vanilla maps - Weapon cursor size remains the same as what it is in single player making it inaccurate. - Pausing to edit controls or loadouts will pause the game for every player - Sometimes when customizing a character the armor changes will update on every player’s spartan - Players are forced to vote for the same map - Some playlists like Flood give people not on split-screen an overwhelming advantageHas any of these issues been addressed by 343i? I mean, I’m kind-of glad they’re focusing on performance and cut split-screen co-op and limited the total number of players to 2, but will that actually help with anything? The problems listed above applied to 2-player split-screen as well so cutting the player-count won’t really have any effect unless there’s some other changes which aren’t as obvious. This alone will determine if I buy H5G or not because if I can’t play MP with my brother I don’t really see a point of playing MP at all.
