Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if any of you guys have been having frame rate problems when playing split screen. Personally, I play split screen all the time with my brothers and this has just been putting us off halo. We are very loyal players that have been playing online since halo 3. This problem seems to be occuring on all three maps from the crimson dlc. I am very, very pissed that this issue hasn’t been dealt with. I have been a HUGE supporter of 343 and if this issue isn’t fixed, than i might just have to give up on halo.
I always play with my brother too, but we only have frame rate issues when he’s customizing look of his Spartan during searching of the matches. Maybe that’s just because of your console?
Yes we notice it. Not sure if it’s quite up to the Perfect Dark N64 level, but for 2012 it’s quite odd. The game really speed bags the console. Give split screen with big team slayer and see some interesting cinema. Fun yes, but not exactly silky smooth or exact.
At first I thought it was my internet connection, but the I realized the recurring problems on the dlc maps. We can’t play big team slayer now due to this issue.
Oh yeah, one more thing,
I noticed that in the dlc matchmaking, there was a playlist titled extraction. it’s in custom games but it doesn’t have its own matchmaking playlist. I think it’s -Yoink- how we have to pay more money to do something already on the disc.

We dont have to pay more money to play it, Extraction is just introduced in MM in the DLC playlist.

More like MS still not releasing a new console so we are stuck with 7 year old crappy hardware.

Yet, this hardware still can handle bigger and more detailed maps without such outrageus frame rate issues. I say someone f-uped with proper testing and optimalization of Crimson Map Pack (and Complex - only default map for 4v4 that is barely playable on splitscreen).
dont play shatter split screen and definetely dont play on forge maps with more than 3 pieces

reach engine…they didnt do anything
The only time i have any frame rate problem’s is when i’m playing on Shatter and sometime’s in Complex, There is a huge frame rate problem in Shatter and only minimum in Complex.

It’s not Reach engine. It was created by same people who where working on Directx 11, so lighting system is something never seen on this generation of consoles. All shadows are calculating in real time and this is in true 720p with antialiasing (FXAA).

Try Harvest when both (or all 4) stands in far corner of the map…

Curious that you could easily play H3 with four screens, along with most other games out there. However, Reach comes out and suddenly two-player splitscreen is worthless as soon as you get any action at all, and noticeably slower without it. Same, but WORSE, with H4.
If it does happen to be something like the lighting… that’s just so unbelievably minor I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. So amazingly poor.
I haven’t even decided whether i like hatter or not. I haven’t gotten one good game in and I’ve had the damn dlc for 2 weeks.
