So in the Vidoc they made split-screen sound like something that had been done away with in favor of Co-Op over Live. However, split-screen is very important to me seeing as how my brother and I share a 360 and love to play Halo together. Anyone know for sure whether or not there’s going to be split-screen in CEA?
Do not worry. Split Screen co-op is in the game along with co-op over system link and xbox live.
Halo doesn’t feel right without splitscreen because you can’t play all night long with your friends. I’m assuming it will be in CEA.
I just hope the detail doesn’t suffer in split screen. Anyone else notice in Reach that stuff like grass and other small environmental objects dissapear in splitscreen?

different engine, buddy. don’t worry, it’ll be fine.
Yeah, I’ve noticed, but it’s never bothered me all too much. Too many games don’t have split-screen, and Halo’s inclusion of the feature has always been one of many things that endear me to the franchise over others.
Hopefully there will be split screen
Split screen co-op is in however split screen system link multiplayer is out no remaster Halo-Lan parties, after all whats my old copy of CE gonna do collect dust? No way!

Actually, it’s been like that since the beginning, though it is more noticeable in Reach.
There are a actually few things that don’t show up in Halo 1 split-screen, one of the more noticeable examples being the real-time reflections (!!!) that exist on the control rooms’ catwalk (I can’t remember if the other real-time reflections, of which there are only a couple, still show on coop, but I know that that one dissapears).
Every game (not just the Halos) that has ever featured split-screen has had a degradation in visual quality.
In split screen you’re essentially running two versions of the game simultaneously which obviously puts a strain on the processor, so some things have to go, usually particle and lighting/shadow detail.

Ditto.
I’ve played all Halo campaigns in split-screen co-op with my wife. If Halo didn’t have split-screen co-op, I wouldn’t be able to play with her because I’m not going to buy a second TV set, a second xbox, and a second copy of the game.

In my opinion, that’s a very small price to pay for the joy and fun of being able to play split-screen.
