I have found that my teammates consistently run into my splinter grenades after I have thrown them and I am being punished for them walking into the specifically obvious trap.
If anyone else is getting booted or banned for people running into their grenades after they’ve been please reply thrown please reply and if 343 somehow notices this thread and flaw, please do something about it!!!
This happened to me the other day, accidentally ran into one not knowing it would set it off. I apologized and kept on gaming. Does the kick notification come up in this game or is it auto?
i believe it’s automatic. No idea.

I don’t think so,I remember betraying one of my teammates in breakout thinking there wasn’t friendly fire(which there was…lol)
End of game,I betrayed my friend,which is my 2nd betrayal,apparently he received a notification asking if the game should kick me.So I believe its not automatic,the latest person you betrayed will get the option to choose whether you are kicked or not.
This happened to me in two games last night. The second game I was playing with three friends and the one that walked in to the grenade said he didn’t get an option to boot me. So, unless he’s lying or just accidentally pressed the boot button before seeing the notification, I believe it’s automatic. They definitely need to do something to fix it, either way. If I directly hit a teammate with the grenade, I can understand. But, if the shards are in mid-air for a few seconds and someone then runs in to them, that’s their own fault. I don’t even want to use the grenades anymore for fear of being banned again. Which is a shame because they are extremely useful to prevent access to a location.
I am hoping this will go away as players learn how the splinter grenades work. I think there was some original confusion whether the floating particles would hurt you or not. (and just how deadly they can be).
I know this post is old but this is still a problem, i was just in a game where my teammate was purposely following me around waiting for me to throw one so he could claim i was team killing get me temporarily banned.

Then don’t throw the grenade if you know he’s waiting for it.
