I know that the spiker is a weapon of the brutes,and I know that. Just by chance, why just put the Gravity Hammer (which is a weapon models brutes) and put the spiker, just so that there is more variation, could have been used as a weapon of equipment covenant. Well just that.
I’d welcome it back as a loadout weapon, but it would have to be unique in some way and not just an Assault Rifle clone with spikes.
Come to think of it, if it were weaker I think it would make a nice Boltshot replacement as a secondary weapon…I really hate the Boltshot (nobody should ever spawn with a gun that has a one-shot kill ability, no matter what the range)

Oh man…I really miss that Spiker. Wish that along with the Plasma Rifle and SMG came back. Both Standard and Skins (PR better be RED).

the only reason I could think of is the Gravity Hammer was included solely because of grifball. Brute weapons such as brute shot, spiker and brute plasma rifle wasn’t included because it didn’t fit with Halo 4 campaign plot. But having them included for multiplayer wouldn’t hurt if they had included them.

literally the only reason it existed is because bungie didn’t have time to make the spiker in halo 2. that’s why it doesnt appear in any other games.

LOL that reminds me it only appeared in two games Halo 2 and ODST.
They could’ve included the brute plasma rifle variant as a skin in Halo 4, that would have been appreciative.

they just didnt want to break the canon. I’m not making things up, they said it in one of the interviews (dont ask me which, it’s from even before halo 3 was released).

Duel wielding it made it extremely lethal for me, the spikes where affected by gravity, they also ricocheted off surfaces, and it had two blades on the end of it. Hardly a clone in my opinion.

The other SMG class weapons would need to come back along with dual wielding, which I would love 343 if they did. The only thing removing dual wielding did was make me and others disappointed. Sucks that -Yoink- got so much heavier in Reach and Halo 4.

Not supposed to be a clone, but a replacement. Also, there is no duel-weilding in Halo 4

There’s also no way for them to add new weapons to the game. It worked well enough as it did in Halo 3 with dual wielding, I don’t think it would need any major tweaks to put in Halo 5 or whatever Halo game comes out next.

I don’t really care about the spiker. It’s just another full-auto weapon I don’t use. But spike grenades were awesome. There’s nothing funnier than taking out a guy with a spike grenade stuck to the ceiling right by a door.
