Bungie slipped up an awesome chance when they made Halo Reach; they could have given us SPI then and it would have made sense (Spartan-IIIs and all).
Now, with Memories of Reach coming, and the fact that the MK IV’s made it into the game…lets see SPI come around too.
Who’s with me?
Perhaps we could have a next generation SPI armor undergoing field testing in the simulations. Though the helmet design is very close to the Hermes model.
YES!!! ALL OF MY FAN RAGE!!! GIVE ME SPI ARMOR!!!
But guys MK I/Project Orion armour were basically mech suits. They were huge. Having them as in game armour’s would really screw things up.

Uhh… Orion candidates didn’t use mechsuits…

No, S.P.I or Semi Powered Infiltration suits were originally designed and built for the Spartan III’s when they went into service in 2531. What the problem happens to be is that 343 refused to give us a true version of the SPI armor in Halo: Reach despite the fact that we were literally playing as Spartan III’s! We as a fan base have been calling for this set of armor for ages, and with the Memories of Reach update soon to release it would be a good time show us 343 listens and gives us a set of armor folks would love to see.

well, I think Bungie was the one who created Halo Reach?..
Halo Reach was Bungie’s last love child to the Halo universe yes, but AFTER they left 343 took over the multiplayer aspect and they could have easily given us SPI armor in a DLC but NOPE!

Problem is that the SPI suits don’t have any form of active shielding, and a shield is basically what keeps a Spartan alive in the field besides their enhanced capabilities and training (since plasma will burn through almost anything). Besides, we were playing as Spartan-III Commandos picked for NOBLE Team, who were also like Spartan-IIs, at the peak of their physical conditions.

Would still be nice to have an SPI skin lol
Although I love the books, and I’d love to see SPI in a spin-off Spartan-III game, I think we already have enough domed visors in Halo 5.
The SPI armour wasn’t as powerful and damage-resistant as Mjolnir armour. If 343 put the actual SPI armour into Halo 5, they would have to reduce your shields and make your Spartan weaker.

- The subjects of the ORION Project never utilized powered armor like the MJOLNIR systems.
- MJOLNIR Mark I/II/III is not the same as Semi-Powered Infiltration (SPI) armor. Yes, the first versions of MJOLNIR weren’t the form-fitting armor that current models are, but SPI was a set of armor designed as a cheap substitute for MJOLNIR to give Spartan-IIIs on their suicide missions.
- Having them as in-game armor could just make them a vehicle like the Mantis.

It could just be made into a hybrid set similar to the Mark IV.
Most likely there will be Decimator skins, I would say an Noble skin but there are already 2 skins for Carter’s helmet.
My dream is Military Police to be added, only one can dream…

Past Halo games did not support armor dlc. You can’t blame 343 for that one. Halo 5 is literally the first Halo that can do this.
EDIT: I stand corrected. Thanks zalrohg, forgot about halo 4 adding armors. The bulk of my point stands though, that they couldn’t in Reach.
OP, the update is Memories of Reach, and no one has memory of an armor that wasn’t in the game lol. On top of this, I can guarantee you 99% of the fanbase doesn’t either know or care about what you’re talking about lol. I’m not trying to attack you, you’re just setting yourself up for disappointment.

That stretched the suspension of disbelief too far, on top of SPI being a stupid idea. Also Ghosts of Onyx was easily the worst written story.

Halo 4 was the first to add new armed not previously saved to the disc.

My thoughts exactly.
