If you look on the new Post, there is picture of concept art for a new map. In this picture there is a spartan who wears armor that resembles Kurt’s SPI armor from the novels.
Does this mean we’re getting SPI armor?

But they added Mark IV in Halo 5…

AESTHETICS!
That concept art looks really old; the weapon the spartan is holding looks like a cross between a dmr and a hydra, so it’s probably a concept EVA helmet.
Nice speculation but I doubt it’s the Spi armor that Kurt wore; but who knows you never know what they may add.
Looks like football pads. I like the way that armor looked and waited to see in in a game or a variant of it

lol, 343 would just slap a description about it being an updated SPI suit built for spartan II’s. Thats all they need to do.
More rounded fishbowl helmets!
Not my style but woohoo?!
On one hand, that’d be cool. On the other, that’d mean is have to grind the game for REQ Packs for a chance to unlock it.

They could always call it SPI [GEN2] & run with it.

The original Mk IV MJOLNR was a fraction of the potential that Mk V MJOLNIR and Mk V was just below the Mk VI MJOLNIR but SPI was designed to be infiltrator armor for long term deployment in hostile territory. Yes there are no shields and the primary feature on it is reactive camo along with ballistic plating foe small arms fire, but it was proven effective against Covenant on long engagements behind their lines. The SPI is a very cut down version of the Mk IV MJOLNIR armor but with the combat effectiveness it had in the SPARTAN-III engagements it was a cheaper alternative for large groups of NAVSPECWEP personal such as SPARTAN-III’s. Granted this came from Ghosts of Onyx but the comparison still stands and its helmet does resemble that of the EVA helmet
