What’s the best thing to do (in theory): spend REQ points ASAP (I’m grinding gold), or to save and go on a spree of spending them? I tend to buy gold as soon as I can, although I’ll save maybe 20000 and buy two. What have you found to be the best approach?
I’ve found that if you clear all your common drops by buying a boatload of Bronze packs (the kickbacks from selling the useless content in those helps too) it makes opening Silvers so much more rewarding, because most of the time you’ll see uncommon and up. I recommend not opening Golds until you clear at least most of your Uncommons through opening Silvers, because there isn’t a quantitative advantage to buying Golds (while there is one for starting with Bronzes and then going to Silver)
Save up and then work your way through Bronze until you unlock all Commons and Uncommons, and Silver until you get through all your rares. Although a new update is coming out soon so going back to Silver and Bronzes to unlock the lower-tier new stuff after the update launches would make a lot of sense. I’m saving up a bunch of REQ points right now so I can splurge later on and hopefully get a lot of that newer stuff.
I have unlocked every item there is.
I don’t know where you are on your particular journey but if you still have uncommon and commons to unlock go back to silver/bronze. If not, I personally opened them up as I could. Sometimes I would wait and build up a bit, but not often. Currently i’m saving up for the new update, I have 133,742 REQ points. I have no need for any more consumables except maybe ghosts, but I make due without them. I finished unlocking everything around level 130.

Either way you’re earning the same amount of REQs, and spending the same amount of points.
Buy silvers to get rates out of the way…
I still don’t understand why people get gold packs before finishing rare unlocks…seriously.
