Speed runs

Does anyone offer there services to help speed run with people, try as I might I can not do it for the life of me and end up getting frustrated and just quitting the game for a while. Will only need help with halo CE halo 2. Or if people offer there services for a price and can do it for me that would be great. If this post is not allowed please remove.

As a player that does speedruns for Halo CE and 2 (and also currently working on Halo 4), I say that you need to keep practicing. Speedruns are something that require great effort!
First off, I suggest you to forget about the time for now, and learn the tricks first.

Yes, I know how frustrating some parts might be to learn. I was mad about the Keyes Shield Bump, it took me about 19 hours to figure out the positioning. Later, I have also learned the Flood Bump, which is easier and faster.
I was also mad at Regret, or Gravemind etc…
I have gone through pain. But remember, no pain, no gain!

I was going to say, I feel like you’d need to master the tricks and glitches before really worrying about the timing aspect of things.

I have great respect for those who dedicate so much time and effort into speedruns. It’s crazy stuff!

You just need to practice. Surprisingly halo ce and 2 were not terribly difficult overall, it’s literally 2 levels in each. 2 is gravemind and regret. Ce is 2 betrayals keys(only because the keys jump took meforever to get)

If you really want it you need to stop taking a break from it! Speedrunning is part luck part skill. If you don’t practice it you will not be good at it.

I did all the speedrun stuff in all 5 games, I actually “remember” every trick every area to skip, etc. I can only perform maybe 5 or 6 levels because I don’t practice them any longer.

Just keep practicing the part in question though really points and just get practice in the spots that are causing you trouble. You’d be amazed how just practicing the sticking point for you will actually really help out!

From your post it just seems your taking a break is the only thing stopping you honestly. If you want it that bad, don’t take a break. Just like anything else in life.

I’m 100% with you ce and 2 being the worst to speed run because of said 2 levels in each.

They fricking sucked any time grenades became something needed! I sick at trick anything that requires grenades! Or pixel perfect manipulations(looking at regret for deshawn and keys for pixel perfect stuff

Practice makes perfect! It’ll eventually get easier and become second nature after a while

Oh it did when I was doing it for the achievement. I still know them all. I just cant perform most of them any longer since I don’t need to speed run the chives.

Assault on the control room bridge jump isn’t exactly easy, neither is metropolis with all that rng nonsense

Watch zombie stomp 08 nak3d eli or halo completionist for speed running guides

Agreed with both as they are difficult.

Bridge jump is just getting it right but once you do it’s not terribly difficult and metropolises is such a short level as well. So I don’t count either of them asdifficult. Just sorta annoying more than anything else lersonally.

I agree, it’s not just 2 levels in each, especially on Halo 2, legendary.

The bridge drop in AOTCR took me an hour and a half to do. Now I can pull it off within a few tries, if not at the first (although rarely, for some reason it takes me like 15 minutes ahah). Anyway I did it in 7:16 with 0 deaths.
Same with Library and Keyes, which I did in 18:07 and 3:15. Halo CE is manageable, because RNGesus does not play a role in whether you live or die.

Halo 2, on the other hand…

I did The Arbiter in 4:42, 0 deaths. I made it because RNGesus wanted the grunts to not see me when I was doing the triple jump sequence. If they see you, chances of you being completely screwed over increase by like 90%. It is possible to still make it, but you are much more likely to die.

Same in Outskirts, did it 5:35 with 0 deaths as well because RNGesus wanted my vehicle to not blow up.
Same with Quarantine Zone, which I did in 8:52 (although I have 4 deaths here due to the Iron skull, but in reality I have made the whole level without dying).

Metropolis is no different, the driving sequence between the vehicles with everyone shooting at you is hard as well, but RNGesus decided to let me through. I did it in 6:13 with 0 deaths.

I did Regret in 17:04, but RNGesus was definitely with me for much of the mission, from the despawn trick to the Regret fight, pretty much. I have 4 deaths here.

Gravemind? Did it in 31:28 with 31 deaths. I did that mission over and over. When I did that mission in 01:17:xx, the time was still considered good enough to show up on the leaderboard, or on my top 5 friends (which is just me).
Hell even in top 10 there are players with some deaths. It just tells you how brutal that mission is. And there’s too much stuff RNGesus controls, you just can’t predict anything!

While CE did not have this RNGesus stuff, in Halo 2 it plays a vital role. You are either lucky, or you are screwed.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention truth and reconciliation either

Thanks for the advice I’ll keep at it.

To be honest that’s one of my favorite levels to begin with, plus its just the grenade jump that I was struggling with and I’m pathetic when it comes to bad tricks. Beyond that the level is actually fairly easy for me. I guess for most it would be difficult though perhaps. I just spent the absolute most time doing the 4 levels I mentioned getting everything right or good rng. Every single other level was just learn the speed trick.

Truth and Reconciliation is actually not that hard. I expected much worse from it when I was trying to speedrun it on legendary for the first time, but I have found out that is pretty much manageable.
The hardest part for me is the one before getting inside the ship, where some waves of enemies drop down from it and you have to kill them. Grenades kill them somewhat quickly, but I need to do more work on that.

The easiest part to me is the one when you get inside the ship and you have to fight other bunch of enemies there. I thought this was going to be the hardest part, but it really isn’t. You just plasma pistol the sword guys to death and grenade the other enemies to hell before they even get inside the room.

You could always make a tutorial/tip video for those struggling with the speed runs

Oh God I am nowhere near that good on al of them. Only maybe 4 or 5 simple ones. I’d say use naked eli

That’s fair. Naked Eli is the best but you could still put something up. A little variety and options never hurt anyone

I guess. I do actually have a little video on truth and Rec when your inside the ship the first time. The whole level is easy for me and fun so made a clip on that. I can probably make an easy video on the grav lift as well. But they are just simple things I’ve done over the years as I routinely onlythe games every year. Sometimes multiple times a year.

So if I asked, what are some difficult parts in the halo games that you have? They’re all pretty easy to me. Maybe I can make a clip for you

I can probably make an easy video on the grav lift as well. But they are just simple things I’ve done over the years as I routinely onlythe games every year. Sometimes multiple times a year.

There you go! Sounds like the start of a small series of tips and tricks from blazing hellion! To be honest, I haven’t even tried to attempt any of the speedruns on Legendary. Thinking about it though, Halo 3’s Cortana would be really difficult and I’m sure there’d be one or two level in Halo 2 that would be insanely hard as well.
