Speed in switching weapons

Hello there!

This is my first time suggesting a suggestion to the forum, so , take it easy with me… Even if my suggestion is as dumb as a rock, do be patient!

Alright! Let’s get back to the point. Now, different weapons has different weight, sizes and shapes. If we are currently holding a pistol and wanting to switch to a machine gun which is heavy, it won’t take in a blink in an eye. The speed of changing into a heavy weapon will take slower than a light weapon. Yes, I just stated the obvious. But in this situation, it will take around 2 seconds for it to get into position. Correct me if I’m wrong but whenever I play Halo : Reach, the duration in switching the weapon looks the same. Meaning, if I’m holding a Needle Rifle and wanting to switch to a Magnum, it will take faster since it’s light in weight.

So, what is my purpose of this suggestion?
It is to bring ‘logic’ I guess? I’m not saying Halo isn’t logical at all! xD No, I just meant the speed in switching weapon to weapon is not really ‘realistic’.

This suggestion sounds and looks disagreeable but I just wanted to give a try!

Thanks and Happy Killing!

So, spartans can flip vehicles…

Seriously though, if we were playing as a marine I’d say the idea of variable weapon switch speeds makes sense, but not as a spartan.

Hehe, that’s true!

I like it, it would certainly make switching to a side arm rather than another primary gun work better, but maybe not for a spartan, it would have definitely worked in ODST good suggestion though

It makes sense from a generic point, but Spartans are super-soilders with more strength and speed. I can see where you’re coming from. But in something like Halo well…the weapon would have to be pretty heavy.

P.S. Welcome to Waypoint!

P.P.S. Nice to see you’re so enthusiastic!

One of the things that old halo players used to like was having instand weapon switch. It made flashy plays possible and more important was FUN for you and I alike.

Thanks for the positive replies! To be honest, I forgotten that Spartans are super-soldiers! Looks like I have to think before I post!

Thanks for the warm welcome Mactashiv!

Forget switching weapon speed! We can use that extra speed for reloading!
