Am I correct to assume that the armor mod grants you a permanent speed boost powerup without the boost to reload speed?
Yes and no it’s like a half speed boost but it only applies in full sprint (thrusters) and (movement) only applies to sided to side and jump… mods give only the slightest of boosts and what you use should apply to what your play style is

Speed boost perk increases base movement (read strafe) speed and gives you increased jump height (enough that you can easily clamber into the core base on WZA Array. I don’t use it much, but I’ve never noticed a reload speed increase. Pretty sure it also increases run speed, but so does enhanced thrusters (which IMO, is the best perk of them all). Might also give you more slide distance not sure, but it’s definitely top 3 perks still.
The armor mod won’t give you as potent a boost as a Speed Boost Power-up (even at level 1). But the armor mod will apply a permanent effect.
Fast is fun
Speed boost doesn’t even affect sprint speed. It’s only base movement and jump height.
