It was mentioned in the article as something other than the Covenant carbine, anybody know what it is?
Rumor has it that it is the new weapon seen at the end of the GI article, although that could be the DMR. My guess is that it would operate like the silent SMG from Halo 3: ODST since the fully automatic(AR) burst shot(BR) and single shot(DMR) niches are already taken.
In addition it was mentioned in the article that there were four grenade slots. Any speculation on what these might be? If you ask me I would guess that there are more than four grenades in the game so as to allow more customization for the loadouts. Spike grenades and flame grenades would be nice to see back.
Please post ideas for grenades and any thoughts you have on the Assault carbine. So many views but so little responses T_T

Its like say, you know the M4 carbine in real life? Yea ‘carbines’ are in between SMG and assault rifles, so the assault could be a SMG with the accuracy of an assault weapon.

The MA5K is a cut down version of the MA5B(AR), it was made for the SIII’s.

Probably a good possibility. Hopefully the SMG makes it too.

I don’t know, the MA5K sounds like it operates similar to the assault rifle, i’m not sure if they would add a gun that similar to the AR into the game,
speaking of new features why is everyone so angry over being able to pick you gun at the start. So long as they let us stop that in custom games I think it will be fine if anything it reminds me of F.E.A.R’s multiplayer which I loved (but that was for those crazy oh good god what just happened moments)

I think it’d play more like the CE assault rifle
br is battle rifle, not burst rifle. i think the assault carbine will be like the smg.
I’m hoping that means it might be an MA5K type deal that is scoped like the ODST SMG as described in the OP. That would make me one very happy person.
Always wanted the MA5K and have been clamoring for the return of a scoped, non-headshot weapon like the M7S. Seems like a great way to introduce it.

Sorry, i was specifying the niche of the weapon, not the weapon itself. Prolly should’ve made that more clear.

As long as we’re getting an unnecessary amount of different mid-ranged rifles, I hope they include the Needler Rifle.

I agree, I honestly would rather see the needle rifle than the DMR, the needle rifle was unique.
