Specific playlists 4 each game

I really think there should be seperate playlists 4 each game. Mixing every map 4 every Halo game in one playlist would be kind of lame. That way players can play their favorite game 100% of the time.

It’s been confirmed you can solely play one game playlists.

Really? If that is the case they should bring back squad battle and team objective and other playlists that Bungie took out. That really upset alot of friends I knew.

Yes, there’s been multiple threads and dozens of comments confirming this. There wasn’t much need for this thread at all ^^;

That gave me an idea to make this thread https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst245545_Lets-Fix-mistakes-from-Halo-s-1-3--pls-read.aspx

Or you could just make one thread with your ideas and questions instead of multiple threads

I think it would also be cool if there were cross-game playlists, but one problem with a game this size is that you don’t want to separate the multiplayer experience into too many playlists. While Halo does seem to be building steam again (Or at least I think it is, I have noticed an increase in the Halo 4 population) we don’t want to split up the population too much, otherwise we could see a lot of playlists, but not a lot of people playing in each one.

Yeah once I learned they do plan on making specific playlists as well, I was very Happy. Now everyone can choose which Halo(s) to concentrate gameplay on! Lets just hope there are the popular playlists per every game.

I assume the increase in population lately is due to the new Halo M.C.C. info and E3 jazz. Mark my words, once MCC is out in Nov, the Halo population will explode more than ever before, even more than Halo 2 and 3 on release week. If this does happen, having dedicated playlists per game and a decent amount (not too many for reasons you mentioned) of playlists will actually make it more replayable thus bring in more dedicated players and new players alike. I theorize it is such a perfected masterpiece that the large population will evenly distribute, although it’s safe to theorise 70% of the whole population will be on Halos 2 and 3. I’m sure 343 is taking this into consideration and their only fear would be having too much division and too many playlists, but I think it will work for the better.

Well look at it this way: While most will probably be playing 2 and 3, there’s not two dozen playlists like Halo 4 had. So the population won’t be split as much as we might think. Some people will probably still play Halo 4, some will probably try the multiple games playlist…

We’ll just have to wait and see.

Is that a reliable source? I hope Bravo is in a high enough position to say this because in interviews with Frankie and that other dude they keep banging on about custom games and how much easier it is on the xbox one and -Yoink- like that… So yeah, i still have my doubts…

Yes, but what gametypes will those playlists support? Will there only be one playlist dedicated to Halo 2, but only include Team Slayer gametypes? What if I want to play objective or Snipers in Halo 2 only?

Yeah exactly, they are close to -Yoinking!- it all up again.

“The studio really wants to encourage cross-Halo play, however, so expect most of the public playlists to reflect that”

that upsets me :frowning:

That’s a good question, but it seems the work is still in progress, so we’ll get more information about that in future announcements.

I was thinking of a system that would work the same way Caboose described in his H5 matchmaking suggestion: https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst242840_Matchmaking-Infrastructure.aspx

At the playlists selection screen, you would have the option to check or uncheck which Halo multiplayer you want to play. By default, they would all be enabled, but you could then choose to remove the multiplayers you are not interested in.

Again, like in Caboose system, the game would try to match players who have at least one common multipalyer enabled, so that the player pool is increased during the research. If I selected only H2 multiplayer, the game would thus try to match me with whoever selected H2, whether they only selected H2 or the four multiplayers.

Would you think this could work for TMCC?
