Specializatons armor and custom armor

i was thinking that since each specialization comes with a certian armor wouldnt that make personal armor customization redundant ot this part? so is it that if some one wants to use a particular specialization they have to use that certian armor that comes with it?

edit: well i guess i just got my answer someone just posted this tweet in a thread above this

They don’t have to use the armor for the specialization, it’s just a reward for leveling up that specialization.
