Sorry for this post but can anyone explain the point of this feature I’ve just hit 50 and to be honest thought I would be getting objectives to complete like play certain games, cap x amount of flags or use specific weapons but nothing like that, so what is it will i have to do anything different or just carry on playing and ranking up as before

There’s no point really, it just unlocks more armor/skins/support packages, just like you were receiving in your first 50 lvls.
I guess the extra tactical/support packages are slightly better, but other than that there’s not much of a point.

They allow you to customise your character to suit your playing style. For example, I chose Rogue a few days ago because I love to snipe and honestly, I’m glad I chose it. 
ya and you can only pick rogue because you bought either the xbox or legendary edition. so people with regular edition like me cant get it, which is a bunch of bull
HaHa we are 343i and we love gaming and are doing it for the fans…well the rich fans that is, how can they have a option that allows you to be a better sniper based on your ability to pay, 343i great game, not so great morals !
It effects your play in the sense of giving you slight advantages. Example, Rouge when it comes out to those who do not have it may find this to be a very useful perk. What does it do? Well put it this way ever have issues with keeping on target while scoped, and getting shot causes that annoying flinch. Rouge reduces the amount of flinching you will receive while getting shot. This in a simple manner of speaking will make you more accurate.
Pioneer is an amazing spec to grab while you have the chance or get the chance. That fast track perk will make ranking that much easier. This is why I do not agree with the xp you get from spartan ops. With fast track as long as you keep it active can reward up to an extra 1k xp.
Stalker gives nemesis. Want to locate that joker who got you with some absurd kill and return that -Yoink!-. Well this perk marks the last person that killed you, while this effect does not last, it does allow you to track other players for a short time.
Recommend pioneer first.

Sorry you will hate me, but my limited edition is only €43 muahhaha!

You didn’t buy the limited edition, that was your choice.
If anyone has the right to complain, it’s those who actually bought the limited edition, as the extra 6 specializations were supposed to be exclusive to the limited edition for a good time, but now everyone has access to them as long as they played before the 20th.
You should be happy that they are being unlocked earlier than most.
And one final thing, it’s not like a good player can outplay the extra upgrades from the specializations, they aren’t overpowered, they are all situational upgrades and will only help with certain things.

Having to wait three weeks is hardly screwing people over.
