I’ve been dabbling with this idea for awhile, and I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t work but I’m concerned with what it might do. I do not have the six other specialization perks but my friend does. If I log onto his console and choose one, then play again on my xbox, will my level still be capped? or what will happen exactly?
If the code unlocks the Speciasations for the entire console, then you should theoretically have access to them.
However, you would likely have to get him to choose each new Specialisation.
If you try this, reply to let us know how it goes. I have a mate I could do this for… he played on release day and didn’t get a code.
Truthful answer: I don’t know. You could give it a try.
It’s not like you’re manipulating networks or anything like that so I severely doubt it would be grounds for a ban. It would be nice if 343i could comment as to what their view is on this though. They’d probably just stick to the line that they’re rolling them out for everyone in the future anyway so not to worry about it.

Only way I see this working is if you physically rank up on your friends console. As when you play back on a console with no specialization dlc on they will beome locked again. I know this because I have the specials and every so often you get the glitch were they disappear. so any special that you have not already unlocked will vanish I should imagine that the console will know you dont have the dlc and not even allow you to rank it up.

I know this is obviously a good idea but it always saddens me to see it said, since it shouldn’t need to be said and there are genuine, trustworthy people out there who would do it for people.

Yeah, this is what I’m thinking will most likely happen.

yeah, this is what i’ve been thinking will happen.
I actually doubt that.
Once you go from 70 to 71 on their console, you should be fine to level up to 80 as you are now.
At 80, you won’t be able to see any more Specialisations, so you’ll need to tell your friend to rank you up or do it at their house.
After doing that to get to 81, you should again be fine… and so on all the way through to 130.
This does assume you can use their Xbox for it, but I don’t know if that’s possible. You should test it since you have local friends, and let us know.
