It was stated that there would be early access to extra specializations for those who purchase the Limited edition of the game. What worries me is that we have now been told that specializations can not be used until you hit the multiplayer level cap. Will this mean that limited edition buyers can choose a specialization upon starting the game or will they still have to go through and reach the highest multiplayer level before they can make use of their content? If I have to reach the highest rank just to have access to something that I payed extra money for, then I’m sorry 343 but that’s cheap as hell.
LE buyers still have to rank up in order to use the specializations. All we get is the options to choose them early, not necessarily unlock them automatically at launch. LE buyers most certainly have to play the game just like everyone else.
Consider the other side of things; if we did get the specializations at launch if we purchase the LE. That right there would piss players off and punish them for not giving 343 more money for the LE (which not everyone is going to shell out 100 USD for). This would give players who payed more an advantage over those who didn’t and it be -Yoinking!- mess to deal with in MP, especially those who are newer to the series. Keep the generic online FPS pyramid schemes away from Halo.
No, 343 did right by us by not giving us everything up front in the LE. Good because i need Halo 4 to have replayablity up to Halo 5 and beyond.
Not really, it’s like in swtor, you get a special speeder for the limited edition I think. You get access to it later on in the game when you level up for the abilty to have speeders. Not all limited or bonus content has to be start game.

That’s all well and good and I understand them not giving it to us immediately. What my worry is that I am still yet to reach the highest rank in any halo game because I just don’t seem to be able to do it. If this is the case with Halo 4, then I’ll never have access to my LE content…

An issue of time investment. The best advice i can give is that remind you’re self that no matter how awesome Halo is, it’s still just a video game. Sure all that digital content is shiny and cool but your life is more important than any one game.
What i mean is if you can put the time in that’s cool but it’s not big deal if you can’t get all the shiny new content. Hell i am not an Inheritor of Reach (not that rank means anything) and not having the Haunted Helm isn’t a big deal IMO.
Of course, it’s a different story if you have some sort of Halo OCD towards any and all content…

We haven’t seen how hard/ easy/ long/ it is to level up in Halo 4 yet so I’m betting it won’t be as hard as trying to Reach Reach’s level cap.
