Specialization Discussion Censoring?

It seems every thread that is started to discuss the Specializations Code Issue with Halo 4, and bring to light the numerous amount of individuals who have not received their code, has had posting shut down by the administrators. Folks are then redirected to information about the release of the codes that is clearly redundent and reinterates that these folks do meet the set requirements and still have not received codes. I seems this is an attempt to keep a lid on how upset people have gotten with 343i regarding this issue. I hope that is not true. This really isn’t something that should be swept under the rug. Individuals who have purchased a product and are then denied the updates to continue gameplay have a right to express the issues they are having. Even if it is 1000’s + worth of people expressing the same issue.

For the record, the emailing of codes is the worst way to distribute them, when everyone is connected to the XBox Live Mesage Center. For the sake of your fans, 343i, please find a solution. Thank you.

Yeah, they act like the USSR. Everyone who has some critics will be banned or worse…

343 wont change anything, they wont listen to anyone, tragic…is a word to describe them

Yeah from the UK so didn’t vote because 343/MS only does their promo’s in the USA.

But seriously not impressed by the constant screw ups.

ok its my birthday and ive just spent and hour talking to xbox about when us in europe will get the codes the man said he doesn’t no because they dont control that sort of thing but i cant contact 343 or halo waypoint because they dont have a contact us section also i have spent £45 on a game that i cant now get higher then level 70 on because of their unprofessinal and frankly stupid approach to the specialization codes is rediculous why would you cut out such a large proportion of your fan base from getting something it seem like favouritism and it makes me feel like you have no reason to care for your customer fairly or in my case not at all so if you reading this please release information on when we get these codes or whether we get them. which we should because if we dont i have once again been gipped into buying half a game

Firstly, this issue has been explained and is considered closed. Microsoft has nothing else they can do, quote on quote, from Xbox Support. As for the administrators: firstly, its moderators. Administrators are 343i employees generally speaking and the moderators are volunteers.

> Folks are then redirected to information about the release of the codes that is clearly redundant and reiterates that these folks do meet the set requirements and still have not received codes.

The official statement is everyone who has the set of requirements was notified. The fact is, no one on these forums can verify you are who you say you are, your age, etc. and if someone links something, my first response is what does that prove?

While I’m not for locking these topics, creating ten ne topics about a single element of discussion is also not smart. As I said in other threads, make a single OFFICIAL thread and post in that one.

> It seems this is an attempt to keep a lid on how upset people have gotten with 343i regarding this issue.

They aren’t keeping a lid on it. Just keeping a lid on spammed topics which, by nature, is not something to promote healthy back and forth discussion.

> I hope that is not true. This really isn’t something that should be swept under the rug. Your correct. But do it without creating hundreds of the same threads…

> For the record, the emailing of codes is the worst way to distribute them, when everyone is connected to the Xbox Live Message Center. For the sake of your fans, 343i, please find a solution. Thank you.

I agree. I think emailing the codes was a lax way to approach this, but how else would you do it? Mail them? Phone people the codes? Email is the best course of action and honestly, if you care about those codes, then you need to keep your email updated and right.

That isn’t Microsoft’s fault, that lies squarely with the player base.

Unfortuately, to say that the issue is explained and considered closed is incorrect. The information you have linked to is the same redundant run-around that everyone else has been given. All it says to me is “We don’t have an answer.”

I, as well as many others, do meet the “Offical Statement’s Requirements” to receive the codes. My email is not invalid, I pre-ordered and have played everyday since Nov. 6th., I am well over 17 and in the US. Plus, I have never seen a single thing on XBox live about it. To simply say the issue lies solely with the players is just shifting blame. From the powers that be, who are failing to fulfill their promised duties, to the players. A very sad state of affairs, and bad business to boot.

The players are intelligent enough to know when someone is blowing smoke up their whazzoo, and this “Offical Statement” is most definitely smoke, Sir. Continuing to treat it as scripture on the issue is insulting to those that know they are in the right.

If this issue goes unresolved, all the people who have been disenfranchised by this debacle certainly won’t forget when the next 343i project comes to fruition.

I do not wish to sound as if I am directing anger at you PhNx Hellfire. I direct it towards the powers that be failing in their customer service duties by claiming the issue is settled because they released an “Offical Statement” about it.

If these threads weren’t being closed off, or folks were given real answers, there would not be new ones on the same topic popping up.

all i want to no is if the people who didn’t get included in the early release of the specializations aka (the european’s, african’s, and people from the middle east) when they get it or if they get it because its part of the game they were expected and the rest of the world got them just for buying the game or playing it. its really unfair and if we dont get them then im just gonna stop playing the game, its the sole reason that i haven’t bought the map pack is because i dont want to spend money when i cant level up any more its unprofessinal, and frankly irresponsible of them to do a thing like cut of a portion of the fan base from leveling up and 343i haven’t even released any information. its like the sr1 scenario all over again thousands of people reduced to rank 1 for multiple days some people weeks and they didn’t even release any information on what caused it or even just a simple were working on it and it will be fixed soon. please just inform us on when or if we get them.

> Unfortuately, to say that the issue is explained and considered closed is incorrect. The information you have linked to is the same redundant run-around that everyone else has been given. All it says to me is “We don’t have an answer.”

The answer is they are not emailing anything anymore. Hence the locked thread. If the case was still open, 343 wouldn’t have locked that thread and people could still post in the thread.

Seriously, they may still be sending out codes to people, but with that thread locked, its doubtful they are sending codes to individuals who are making the topics.

> I, as well as many others, do meet the “Offical Statement’s Requirements” to receive the codes.

Good luck proving that to these forums. The thing about the internet is any website can be faked and authetnication and verification would need to be verified, by a trusted 3rd party with additional certificates to prove the information isn’t fake and you are who you say you are.

> My email is not invalid, I pre-ordered and have played everyday since Nov. 6th., I am well over 17 and in the US. Plus, I have never seen a single thing on XBox live about it. Like I said originally, this system is not one which works out ideal for all players. However, the simple truth is there is just no way to verify or prove you are who you say you are and prove your eligibility. Not on these forums at least, but then again, your right, there is no official statement 343 has ceased emailing codes, so TECHNICALLY, it is still possible they are sending additional ones out.

Given the nature of how these topics are being locked and not opened again as well as the one OFFICIAL thread was locked by Rukizzel, a 343 employee, it is highly unlikely this is happening.

> The players are intelligent enough to know when someone is blowing smoke up their whazzoo, and this “Offical Statement” is most definitely smoke, Sir. Continuing to treat it as scripture on the issue is insulting to those that know they are in the right.

Sounds like a personal problem to me. I say that because there is no one on these forums or elsewhere which can help you on this. And no, 343 employees do not respond to public threads or discussions, this is why the moderators are volunteers and not employees.

> If this issue goes unresolved, all the people who have been disenfranchised by this debacle certainly won’t forget when the next 343i project comes to fruition.

I’m counting on it. I sincerley hope it wakes 343 up to how to handle these things in the future. Fact of the matter is, it absolutely sucks to know in your heart your right, but you can’t prove it without a reasonable doubt being raised.

> I do not wish to sound as if I am directing anger at you PhNx Hellfire. I direct it towards the powers that be failing in their customer service duties by claiming the issue is settled because they released an “Offical Statement” about it.

I don’t interpret this as anger yet, I’ve had angry comments fly before. This is discontent at best.

> If these threads weren’t being closed off, or folks were given real answers, there would not be new ones on the same topic popping up.

Good to see I’m not the only one who uses that logic… oh wait, just about everyone with this issue can agree on that. Funny how that has developed…

Again 343, this is why you need to hire a Public Relations Team to handle situations like this and AT LEAST get some answers onto the forums you frequently visit.
