Instead of sending e-mails to people, why can’t the specializations be released in an update or something? I’ve got a couple of friends who are stuck at SR70, it seems the specializations being locked was just a way to make the LE more worth the money.
Also, I’m not criticizing 343 or calling them stupid, it’s just a suggestion.
There is nothing difficult in opening an email, clicking a link and clicking a button. To be frank some people are just stupid, plain and simple. No matter how easy it is, they will still screw it up. Even if the code was preset on the 360 dashboard with only one button required to activate, they would still manage to delete it/lose it/press the wrong button/let the dog eat it (lol yeah)/say the cat jumped on them making them turn off the console etc etc.

Instead of trying to be a smartass, try to remember that barely anyone’s getting the e-mail, and the process would be easier in an update.
Because it is for players who played in XBL from Release until November 20. Giving standard edition players an early access as well before it goes public.
Majority of people that are not getting it are
A. Under Age (must be 17 and above / 18 If from NZ)
B. From Europe
C. Mixed emails which caused the system confusion
D. In–Yoinking!–active email

You realize that most people have not even received the e-mail? And yet you are questioning people’s intelligence?

No to A, B, C, and D. Please stop with the assumptions.

Newsflash- Im from the UK, I didnt get a code at all. And as for the xbox live players? Hell yeah there are a shedload of frankly moronic people on the system. Im mean just look at the amount of threads with people having problems due to the fact they didnt keep contact details up to date. I mean really, its not hard to have an active email address and have to tied to your xbox account but for some people that just seems too difficult.

1.) A Halo 4 update is available, update now?
2.) “Yes”.
If you’re going to over simply the issue, OP is still right. You do realize that among millions of people plenty of them have bigger things to worry about than keeping their Xbox Live info updated through 5 years of playing, right?

Yes, that is simple, but it could be as simple as just opening the menu and select your new specialization. Sort of like how bungie unlocked the recon helmet for everyone after a long time (without the challenges).

Bungie didn’t unlock recon armor in Halo 3 for everybody. 343 did when they took over the franchise because the “Road to Recon” section was removed from Bungie.net after the servers were transfered to 343.
