Specialization and Tactical Package Problem

We’ve got a problem

So from what I understand, the tactical packages are unlocked by using specializations. And also that if you did not buy the 50$ extra special edition, you only get access to 2 of these specializations at day one, “Wetworks”, which unlocks the stealth armor mod, and “Pioneer”, which unlocks the fast track armor mod.

I have also learned that the rest of these specializations will not be available for these players until 343 decides to release them slowly over time in increments almost like they are treated like new dlc or map packs.

So does this mean, that if i want to unlock a specific perk like “resupply”, and i don’t have the limited edition, I might have to wait for possibly months before i can pick up grenades off the ground?

That’s not a very good reason for me to HAVE TO get the limited edition, it doesn’t make me want it. It makes me feel just negatively about being without it. That’s not incentive to get something you feel is special, that’s deterrence from not.

By tactical packages, do you mean ordnance drops? Those happen anytime, whether or not you have a specialization. Some specializations will have an effect on ordnance drops (one that lets you see when a drop is coming down, another lets you “re-drop” if there aren’t any weapons inside that you like) but they’re not required to get resupplied.

I’m not sure I understand your comment about picking up grenades, but relax. There are additional perks that you can unlock without needing specializations.

First off, not all armour mods are unlocked through specialisations - only a few. I think Resupply is one of the ones that isn’t, and will most likely be one of the first mods you can unlock.

Yes, those who preordered the LE will have access to 6 more specialisations than those who didn’t, but they still have to rank up to SR-50 before they begin to specialise.

Resupply is not one you unlock through a specialization. There’s only 8 that you actually have to complete the 10 levels for, so you’ll have a good amount to pick from even without the specializations.

thank you for the clarification, that makes ME feel better that my specific armor mod will be available, but what about people that want other ones like the nemesis or stability? are they going to have to wait for 343 to release it, be fore they can even try to unlock it?

Yes, but it’s going to take a while just to earn specializations in general. By that time, 343i could easily have decided to publicly release more of them. The Limited Edition may give you access right away, but it’s inevitable that they’ll be available to you.

I bought the limited edition, mainly because its totally worth it. You get the 3 map packs pre paid for, and its basically a bunch of stuff, like exclusive downloads and FUD for only 10 bucks, tbh i don’t see why everyone didn’t get it.

Besides the point, thats not the sole reason to get limited edition, that specialization stuff was just the cherry on top for me, it’s like the last thing i cared about. They just give a small insignificant change in gameplay, i really doubt not picking up grenades is gonna break your gameplay. I could have full on well went with out it for a while and have been totally ok, but if im gonna get it for making a smart purchase… so be it.

Its really not something to be upset about, i REALLY doubt they’re gonna make the other people pay for it. That’s a big part of game to sell individually, and people would not be happy about it

Yes, those who preorder LE will get to choose all 6 BUT ONLY after they’ve reached the original 50 Spartan Ranks.

343 is NOT releasing them by date, you unlock them through finishing other specializations. after you complete one specialization, more and more specializations will gradually appear for you to choose from and rank up in.

Waypoint drinking game:

Take a shot when someone says “Perk.”

Try it if you want your liver to QUIT.

Knowing that there are many CoDophobes out there, this wouldn’t be surprising for people to basically keel over from your drinking game. I would play, but I’d rather not take the risk of harming myself and others, and I’m underage.

Alternatively, take a shot whenever someone defends all the weird changes and decisions 343i has made as being good because it’s “new ground”.

Sir, with all due respect (very little) you have no idea what you are talking about

Oh dear sweet merciful Athiesmo, please let it be true. That makes alot more sense then what I thought. So what you are saying is that once you get to 50 you can choose between those 2 (wetwork/pioneer) and then unlock the others after them, and special edition can just choose between all 8 after they get past level 50? If so I am totally relieved.
